The client’s contingent workforce governance and supplier management were handled locally by individual offices and departments. Contracts were negotiated and managed independently, resulting in inconsistent commercial terms, conversion arrangements, supplier performance standards and compliance processes.
Without consistent global standards, the business faced increased risk and cost inefficiencies across several markets. Local teams were also often restricted to their existing suppliers, leading to shortages in the quality and availability of talent.
A bespoke solution, scalable across regions
The partnership started in 2019 as a vendor-neutral agency management and payroll service focusing on operations in the United Kingdom and Ireland. 6 years in, Robert Walters is now the client’s established Managed Service Provider (MSP) partner, delivering vendor management, governance, temporary payroll and direct sourcing solutions to 17 territories across Europe and Asia.
Robert Walters currently manages over 600 contingent workers globally, managing local vendors to hire the best contingent talent across the client’s professional services, IT and business support functions. Governed via a global Vendor Management System (VMS), with standardised contracts and a supplier performance framework, the client’s leadership team now has full visibility of contingent worker activity and spend.

Since the start of the partnership, the scope of our delivery has grown, and so have the benefits to the business.
With all contingent worker data centralised via the VMS and managed by Robert Walters, strategic decision-making is quicker and better-informed.
