What you'll do:

• Take ownership of electromagnetic compatibility design and development for automotive optical radar/laser scanning products, ensuring all requirements are met throughout each phase of the product lifecycle.
• Conduct thorough reviews of schematics and printed circuit board layouts, offering detailed recommendations for optimising designs to meet stringent EMC standards.
• Independently assess customer test plans by applying your deep understanding of automotive original equipment manufacturer EMC standards and testing requirements, identifying potential risks early.
• Apply comprehensive knowledge of EMC test methods, regulatory requirements, and relevant international standards to ensure full compliance for all electronic products developed.
• Lead the assessment, testing, and validation processes for EMC across multiple project stages, guaranteeing that all milestones are achieved efficiently and effectively.
• Perform theoretical analysis as well as hands-on troubleshooting when EMC issues arise during hardware development, implementing corrective design improvements as needed.
• Drive resolution of complex EMC challenges by collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers, designers, and quality assurance specialists.
• Utilise simulation tools to predict potential electromagnetic interference issues before they occur, proactively addressing them through innovative design strategies.
• Document all findings, test results, and remediation actions clearly to support ongoing product improvement initiatives and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends in EMC engineering and automotive electronics by participating in training sessions and industry events.

What you bring:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Automation or a related discipline is required to ensure foundational technical knowledge.
• Minimum three years’ experience working specifically with electromagnetic compatibility engineering within hardware circuits or mechanical structures is essential.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience in designing for EMC within automotive electronics environments is highly desirable for this position.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex EMC issues during hardware development cycles and implement effective remediation strategies is crucial.
• Familiarity with using simulation tools for predicting electromagnetic interference problems adds significant value to your application.
• Comprehensive understanding of automotive electronics hardware architecture—including circuit interaction, PCB layout considerations, grounding techniques, shielding methods, and overall system integration—is expected.
• Experience conducting independent reviews of customer test plans against OEM standards helps ensure robust risk management practices are followed.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills enable you to work collaboratively with colleagues across various departments while sharing insights constructively.
• A commitment to staying current with evolving industry regulations ensures ongoing compliance throughout all stages of product development.
