Senior Cloud Security Engineer (Azure)

Our client is hiring for a Senior Cloud Security Engineer to strengthen and enhance the security of their cloud platforms. This is a highly hands-on engineering role focused on designing, implementing and troubleshooting security controls across Azure environments. You will work closely with infrastructure and platform teams to embed security into cloud operations, improve detection and monitoring capabilities, and drive secure-by-design practices across the organisation.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design, implement, and continuously improve security controls across Azure cloud environments
• Partner with infrastructure and platform teams to build secure-by-design cloud solutions
• Build and enhance detection, monitoring, and response capabilities across cloud, container, and application environments
• Strengthen identity and access management
• Enhance SIEM and security monitoring capabilities through log onboarding, detection engineering, automation, and response workflows
• Develop and implement cloud security guardrails using Azure-native security services and Infrastructure as Code
• Support security incident investigations, threat hunting, and remediation activities alongside the SOC team
• Contribute to cloud security standards, playbooks, and engineering best practices

What We're Looking For

• Strong hands-on experience securing Microsoft Azure environments (AWS experience is a plus)
• Experience with Azure security services such as Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Sentinel, Azure Policy, Azure Firewall, Key Vault, and Entra ID
• Strong understanding of IAM and modern authentication models
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or Bicep
• Experience securing Kubernetes, AKS, containers, or other cloud-native platforms
• Hands-on experience with SIEM, detection engineering, security monitoring, or security automation
• Scripting or automation experience using PowerShell, Python, or similar languages
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve complex cloud security problems independently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work closely with engineering, infrastructure, and security teams
