What you'll do:

As the SAP Commodity Pricing Engine Technical Solutions Architect based in Singapore, you will play a central role in shaping the organisation’s approach to commodity pricing within its SAP S/4HANA platform. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve collaborating with workstream leads, business stakeholders, product owners, and technology teams to ensure alignment between functional needs and scalable technical architectures. You will drive the creation of robust architectural frameworks from concept through delivery while supporting advanced CPE design capabilities. By providing technical leadership across cross-functional teams, you will facilitate the successful implementation of complex pricing logic. Your expertise will be crucial in evaluating new technologies for suitability within the organisation’s solution landscape. You will also be responsible for designing seamless integration strategies between various SAP modules and external data providers. Maintaining compliance with governance standards is essential as you document solution architectures thoroughly. • Develop and define comprehensive SAP-centric solution architectures that address both functional and non-functional requirements, incorporating CPE-based pricing capabilities such as configurable pricing rules, formula-driven pricing, and integration with external pricing inputs.
• Work collaboratively with business leaders, product owners, and technical teams to capture complex requirements related to commodity pricing scenarios and translate them into scalable SAP solutions.
• Lead the design of SAP-centric system architectures by ensuring integration of pricing components including CPE configuration objects like rules, formula structures, and determination logic aligned with enterprise standards.
• Provide cross-functional guidance by offering technical leadership to development teams throughout project lifecycles, supporting advanced pricing logic and extensibility where required.
• Assess new technologies and design approaches related to pricing frameworks to ensure suitability for current and future solutions, including evaluation of S/4HANA CPE capabilities and enhancements.
• Design integration strategies for complex systems to ensure smooth interaction between SAP modules, pricing components, APIs, and external data providers such as market data or pricing sources.
• Ensure all solutions adhere to organisational governance standards, security policies, and regulatory requirements by maintaining proper control and auditability of pricing logic.
• Create and maintain high-quality documentation for solution architectures including detailed descriptions of pricing frameworks, configuration designs, and integration approaches.
• Oversee system performance optimisation by ensuring efficient execution of pricing calculations and formula-based logic within the SAP landscape.
• Guide and mentor junior architects, developers, and technical team members in architectural principles and best practices including CPE design concepts and configuration patterns.

Your familiarity with Order to Cash processes within the SD module allows you to optimise workflows across logistics operations. Translating intricate business requirements into actionable technical designs comes naturally thanks to your strong interpersonal skills developed through collaborative engagements with diverse teams. You excel at documenting architectural artefacts clearly so that stakeholders can understand configuration details easily. Mentoring junior colleagues is part of your ethos as you share best practices around CPE design concepts. Experience within Mining or Oil & Gas sectors further enhances your suitability for this role especially if you have worked on IS-OIL F&A Pricing transitions.

• Extensive experience in SAP S/4HANA solution architecture and delivery with proven ability to implement large-scale projects in global environments.
• Deep understanding of SAP Commodity Pricing Engine (CPE) configuration concepts including rule-based pricing, formula-driven pricing (commodity index based or quality/assay based), condition-based enhancements, CPF usage, BRF+, pricing rule configuration, mark-to-market valuation, period end valuation of commodities.
• Proven track record integrating external market data sources into SAP pricing solutions using APIs or other methods for seamless data flow.
• Expertise in enhancement techniques such as BADIs for extending standard SAP functionality within commodity pricing frameworks.
• Comprehensive knowledge of SAP SD module processes including Order to Cash workflows as well as integration patterns across logistics modules.
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions that support advanced commodity pricing scenarios.
• Experience guiding development teams through architectural principles while fostering collaborative relationships across cross-functional groups.
• Strong documentation skills for creating clear architectural artefacts covering configuration designs and integration approaches.
• Commitment to governance standards ensuring compliance with security policies and regulatory requirements throughout solution delivery.
• Experience in Mining or Oil & Gas industries is highly desirable; familiarity with IS-OIL F&A Pricing is considered a strong asset given transition from F&A to CPE.
