What you'll do:
As a Senior Business Analyst – Cash Management and Corporate Banking, you will immerse yourself in the heart of international financial operations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve engaging with stakeholders from multiple departments to understand complex business requirements related to payments processing, regulatory compliance, data management, and reporting. You will translate these requirements into actionable solutions by collaborating with technology partners on system enhancements while ensuring all changes are thoroughly tested before deployment. Your expertise will be crucial in defining test strategies for both proprietary platforms and industry-standard payment engines. By maintaining clear documentation and facilitating effective communication among diverse teams—including developers, testers, operations staff, and external vendors—you will help drive successful project outcomes. Your proactive support during user acceptance testing phases will ensure that new functionalities meet high standards of quality. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute directly to the reliability of mission-critical banking applications used globally.
- Gather detailed business requirements through workshops, brainstorming sessions, questionnaires, and close collaboration with key stakeholders such as Product Managers, Client Services, Implementation teams, Operations, and Finance.
- Map identified functional requirements to effective solutions while validating scope and ensuring alignment with business objectives for cash management and corporate banking services.
- Work closely with Lead Business Analysts and Solution Architects to agree on technical solutions that address both local regulatory needs and head office reporting requirements.
- Act as a liaison between business users, operations teams, developers, integration partners, and vendors to ensure seamless communication throughout project lifecycles.
- Prepare comprehensive documentation including Business Requirement Documents (BRD), Functional Specification Documents (FSD), and review System Integration Test (SIT) scenarios and test cases.
- Lead various phases of testing for core banking and payment systems—including regression tests, integration tests, functional tests, test automation—and maintain up-to-date test libraries.
- Define functional test scenarios for both in-house solutions and third-party payment engines such as Global Pay Plus – Service Platform (GPP-SP).
- Oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT) processes by supporting business users, reviewing test results, recording defects using tracking tools, prioritising issues based on severity, and preparing regular progress reports.
- Support operations teams during testing cycles by resolving issues promptly and managing project risks effectively to ensure timely delivery of solutions.
- Chair meetings with cross-functional teams, document outcomes accurately, manage defect resolution activities, and contribute to product collateral development and training initiatives.

To excel as a Senior Business Analyst – Cash Management and Corporate Banking you will bring substantial experience gained from working on sophisticated payment systems or core banking platforms within large-scale financial institutions. Your background should include deep familiarity with industry-standard messaging formats (such as ISO20022 or SWIFT), regulatory reporting requirements across multiple jurisdictions, as well as hands-on involvement in end-to-end software development life cycles—from requirement gathering through solution design to rigorous testing phases. You will have demonstrated your ability to bridge gaps between technical teams and business users by producing clear documentation tailored for diverse audiences. Your interpersonal skills will enable you to build rapport quickly across cultures while supporting colleagues through change management processes. - Minimum of 8 years’ experience as a business analyst within payment systems or core banking applications is essential for success in this role.
- Comprehensive understanding of payment areas including clearing processes; familiarity with ISO20022 formats; SEPA products such as SCT/SDD/Instant SCT; SWIFT messaging for cross-border payments; data mapping; and hands-on testing experience.
- Proven track record working with payment hubs or factories; clearing houses; settlement channels; automated clearing house programmes; real-time payments; cash management; liquidity management; compliance/AML; FX transactions; correspondent banking; trade finance; retail or wholesale banking environments.
- Extensive knowledge of various payment products such as telegraphic transfers (TT), real-time gross settlement (RTGS), low-value payments (LVP), payroll processing, cheques/DDs/cashier orders/mass & bulk payments.
- Experience with reporting products like intraday/end-of-period accounting statements (CAMT53/CAMT54/MT942/MT940), debit/credit advices (CAMT52/MT900/MT910), payment status reports (XML Pain.02 format).
- Expertise in user acceptance testing (UAT), functional/system integration testing methodologies for financial applications—ensuring robust quality assurance practices are followed throughout project delivery cycles.
- Technical proficiency in using ALM/QC/JIRA for test management; creating feature files for Cucumber-based automation frameworks; understanding graph databases like JanusGraph or ElasticSearch; leveraging Kafka platforms for event storage/real-time streaming; utilising Kibana for log analytics/application monitoring.
- Demonstrated ability to work on complex systems within challenging international environments—showcasing strong analytical skills combined with attention to detail when converting intricate information into clear documentation.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills in English—enabling effective interaction with multiple stakeholders across different time zones while fostering teamwork through knowledge sharing initiatives.
- A proactive mindset coupled with adaptability—ready to support integrated teams across Paris/Singapore/global sites while building trusted relationships with programme directors/team leads/architecture functions/quality assurance groups.
