What you'll do:
As a Business Development Manager you will be instrumental in driving commercial success throughout Singapore vibrant biopharma ecosystem. Your day-to-day responsibilities will centre around developing tailored sales strategies that resonate with local market dynamics while collaborating with both internal teams and external partners. You will be entrusted with managing key customer relationships from initial engagement through post-sale support. Your ability to guide distributor networks, evaluate market potential, and provide technical assistance will be crucial in sustaining long-term growth. - Collaborate closely with the Area Sales Manager for Asia to plan budgets, align local strategies, and ensure all activities support overall business objectives.
- Execute comprehensive sales strategies designed to meet or exceed ambitious targets by identifying new business opportunities with a strong focus on the biopharma segment.
- Drive sales activities by engaging key target customers, nurturing leads through every stage of the pipeline, and closing deals that deliver value-based solutions.
- Build and maintain robust relationships with decision-makers and influencers across the Singaporean life sciences community, leveraging your extended network to accelerate the buying process.
- Respond proactively to customer needs by providing expert advice on bioprocess technology issues and acting as the main point of contact for key accounts.
- Support local distributors by guiding them towards achieving their sales objectives, ensuring their staff receive regular training, and on-boarding new partners when necessary.
- Conduct thorough market analysis by gathering intelligence on trends, competition, pricing strategies, customer demands, and tender opportunities to inform product development and strategic planning.
- Represent the organisation at trade shows, industry events, and international meetings while travelling
- Contribute to team success by supporting colleagues in cross-regional projects and initiatives
What you bring:
To excel as a Business Development Manager, you will bring experience gained within B2B sales environments focused on laboratory equipment or biotechnology solutions. You are adept at forging meaningful connections within the biopharma community using your insight into local market trends to identify emerging opportunities ahead of competitors. Your approach combines meticulous attention to detail with a passion for supporting others: whether advising customers on technical matters or mentoring distributor teams through complex challenges. Above all else, your reliability, empathy for client needs, commitment to shared goals—and enthusiasm for continuous learning—will set you apart as a trusted partner both internally and externally.
- A master’s degree in life sciences, biological sciences, biotechnology or equivalent is preferred
- At least 3-5 years of B2B sales experience within the life sciences, biotech or laboratory equipment sectors—ideally supported by an established network in Singapore’s biopharma industry.
- Demonstrated track record of consistently achieving sales targets through effective business development strategies and long-term relationship management.
- Comprehensive understanding of bioreactors and bioprocessing technologies
- Exceptional organisational talent with proven ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently—even in fast-moving environments requiring adaptability.
- Fluency in mandarin would be an advantage in order to communicate with Distributors regionally however is not essential.
