Sales Manager
A leading Korea-based semiconductor equipment company is seeking a Sales Manager to join its expanding Singapore team, offering you the chance to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of specialty gas supply systems across Southeast Asia. As a founding member of the Singapore operation, you will be at the forefront of engaging with major chipmakers and driving business growth in one of the world’s most dynamic technology sectors. This is an exceptional opportunity for someone who thrives on building meaningful client partnerships, enjoys high levels of autonomy, and wants to make a tangible impact within a supportive and collaborative environment. With direct exposure to industry leaders and the ability to influence regional strategy, this role promises both professional growth and personal fulfilment.
What you'll do:
As a Sales Manager – Semiconductor Equipment, your day-to-day responsibilities will centre around cultivating strong relationships with key players in the semiconductor industry while actively seeking out new avenues for business expansion. You will be instrumental in managing critical accounts—particularly among leading chipmakers—by delivering outstanding service and innovative solutions that meet their unique requirements. Your role will involve close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution from initial engagement through to final delivery. By leveraging your deep understanding of market trends and client expectations, you will help shape strategic initiatives that drive sustainable growth for both clients and your organisation. Your ability to negotiate effectively, communicate clearly in both English and Mandarin, and operate independently within a start-up-like setting will be essential for success. This position offers you not only direct access to influential industry stakeholders but also the opportunity to leave a lasting mark on the company’s regional presence.
- Develop and nurture key accounts with major semiconductor clients in Singapore and Southeast Asia, ensuring their needs are met through tailored solutions.
- Identify new business opportunities by researching market trends and expanding existing client relationships within the semiconductor sector.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining high satisfaction levels and fostering enduring partnerships built on trust and understanding.
- Collaborate closely with internal technical and commercial teams to deliver bespoke solutions that address complex client requirements.
- Lead all aspects of commercial negotiations, including pricing discussions, contract terms, and delivery schedules to secure mutually beneficial agreements.
- Monitor competitor activities, evolving market dynamics, and emerging client needs to inform strategic business decisions and maintain competitive advantage.
- Support the ongoing growth and operational excellence of the newly established Singapore entity by sharing insights and best practices.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings to enhance visibility and strengthen professional networks within the semiconductor ecosystem.
- Provide regular feedback to senior management regarding client developments, market intelligence, and potential areas for innovation or improvement.
What you bring:
To excel as a Sales Manager, you will bring extensive experience from within the semiconductor sector—ideally having managed key accounts or driven sales initiatives for equipment suppliers or related infrastructure providers. Your background should reflect not only technical proficiency but also an empathetic approach to client engagement that prioritises long-term partnership over short-term gain. You are adept at navigating complex negotiations while remaining sensitive to cultural nuances across Southeast Asia. Your interpersonal skills enable you to connect authentically with stakeholders at all levels—from engineers on the shop floor to executives making strategic decisions. A proven ability to collaborate across functions ensures projects are delivered smoothly even when challenges arise. Fluency in English and Mandarin allows you to bridge communication gaps between local teams and international partners. Above all, your commitment to shared success makes you an invaluable addition to any team focused on growth leadership within this exciting industry.
- Over seven years’ experience in sales or account management within the semiconductor industry, demonstrating consistent achievement in developing key accounts.
- Proven track record working directly with chipmakers or suppliers of semiconductor equipment, showcasing your ability to understand complex technical environments.
- Comprehensive knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes combined with expertise in client engagement strategies tailored for this sector.
- Experience with infrastructure equipment such as gas or chemical supply systems or related sub-fab technologies is highly desirable for this position.
- Direct or indirect sales experience involving major chipmakers in Singapore (e.g., Micron), enabling you to leverage existing relationships for immediate impact.
- Established network within chipmakers or associated organisations in Singapore’s vibrant technology ecosystem is considered an asset.
- Background working in or alongside global semiconductor equipment companies provides valuable perspective on international best practices.
- Exceptional relationship-building skills paired with clear communication abilities allow you to foster trust-based partnerships across diverse cultures.
- Ability to operate dependably within a start-up-like environment where flexibility, initiative, and hands-on execution are valued traits.
- Fluency in both English and Mandarin is required to facilitate effective communication with local clients and mandarin speaking counterparts
