A leading global organisation is seeking an APAC Sales Director to spearhead commercial growth across Asia, with a focus on Singapore, Hong Kong, or Bangalore, India. This senior role offers you the opportunity to shape sales strategy, drive gross profit, and expand active customer accounts in a thriving interconnect industry. You will be at the forefront of regional expansion, collaborating closely with product management, production, and operations teams in China and Pune.

What you'll do:


As the APAC Sales Director you will play a pivotal role in shaping the commercial landscape across Asia. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve crafting robust sales strategies tailored to regional needs while identifying resources necessary for successful execution. You will oversee all sales and marketing activities throughout Asia, ensuring targets are met through diligent relationship-building with both existing customers and new prospects. Acting as the senior commercial face of the organisation in the region means you will lead major negotiations and strategic account reviews. Initiatives to grow active customer budgets will be central to your remit; you’ll monitor engagement levels closely while reactivating dormant accounts. Building strong supplier relationships is essential for securing advantageous terms and early access to new technologies. Leading a professional sales team requires nurturing a culture rooted in ethics, accountability, collaboration, and compliance. Close partnership with production teams ensures that quality standards are upheld in line with commercial commitments. Assessing opportunities for geographic expansion rounds out your responsibilities, allowing you to drive growth into new markets as approved.


* Develop and implement comprehensive growth plans for APAC markets that align with both regional and corporate objectives, ensuring profitable expansion across geographical and industry sectors.
* Identify resource requirements including personnel, capital investment, supplier relationships, and product solutions to execute strategic plans efficiently and professionally.
* Provide regular reports to senior management detailing sales performance, gross profit achievements, customer activity levels, risks encountered, and emerging opportunities.
* Oversee all sales and marketing activities throughout Asia to achieve ambitious revenue targets while maintaining high standards of professionalism.
* Cultivate deep relationships with existing key customers while systematically developing new accounts to increase the number of active customer budgets year over year.
* Act as the senior commercial representative in the region by leading major negotiations and conducting strategic account reviews with key clients.
* Drive initiatives aimed at increasing consistent revenue generation from active customers by monitoring engagement levels and reactivating dormant accounts.
* Build and enhance strategic relationships with suppliers and stakeholders to secure favourable terms, early access to innovative product solutions, and long-term partnerships.
* Develop and lead a high-performing outside sales and account management team across Asia by fostering a culture of accountability, ethics, collaboration, and compliance with company policies.
* Partner closely with production and operations teams at facilities in China and Pune to ensure quality standards support commercial commitments while providing market feedback for inventory planning.


What you bring:


The ideal APAC Sales Director brings extensive expertise from the interconnect sector, encompassing connectors, cable assemblies or related components, with deep familiarity of product offerings. Your proven track record managing sales performance metrics such as gross profit targets demonstrates your dependability in delivering measurable outcomes. You possess exceptional interpersonal skills that allow you to build trust-based relationships with customers, suppliers, internal teams and advocate persuasively for organisational interests. A sterling reputation within the industry backed by robust contacts across Asia further strengthens your network-driven approach. Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office applications supports your analytical capabilities when preparing detailed reports or presentations. Educationally you hold at least a bachelor’s degree with preference given to those holding engineering qualifications or advanced management training such as an MBA. Fluency in English is essential for effective communication; Mandarin fluency is highly desirable to communicate with china counterparts


* Extensive experience within the interconnect industry (connectors, cable assemblies or related component sectors) coupled with strong product knowledge is highly valued for this role.
* Demonstrated success managing sales performance metrics such as gross profit targets and active customer account growth within complex commercial environments.
* Proven ability to quickly assess market opportunities or risks; develop actionable plans; deliver results on time; and maintain profitability throughout execution phases.
* Outstanding persuasive skills enabling you to advocate convincingly for organisational interests among customers, suppliers, internal teams and foster trust-based relationships.
* Excellent reputation within the industry supported by strong contacts among both suppliers and customers across Asia enhances your effectiveness in stakeholder engagement.
* Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required for data analysis reporting purposes; comfort with digital tools is expected.
* Bachelor’s degree is mandatory; an engineering background is strongly preferred due to technical nature of products managed; MBA or advanced management training is considered advantageous.
* Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is essential; Mandarin fluency is highly desirable to communicate with china counterparts
