What you'll do:
As Business Development Manager Southeast Asia you will play a pivotal role in expanding the organisation’s footprint across multiple countries by managing distributor networks with precision and empathy. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve identifying suitable partners who align with organisational values; negotiating commercial terms that balance revenue growth with compliance; designing impactful training sessions that empower sales teams; providing hands-on clinical support during product evaluations; holding partners accountable through regular business reviews; monitoring market trends; coordinating tender submissions; building stakeholder relationships; and supporting operational functions across customer care, finance, marketing, and technical service. - Identify, evaluate, and recommend distributor partners across Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines based on strategic fit and market reach.
- Lead due diligence processes before onboarding new distributors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards.
- Negotiate pricing and commercial terms within established frameworks while escalating non-standard requests to senior management as appropriate.
- Design and deliver comprehensive training programmes for distributor sales and clinical teams to build capability and accelerate adoption of key products.
- Provide direct clinical and technical support during evaluations and case reviews, developing local champions who advocate for products independently.
- Hold partners accountable to forecasting discipline, pricing execution, revenue targets, and compliant conduct in government dealings through structured business reviews.
- Address underperformance proactively by driving corrective actions or escalating significant partnership changes when necessary.
- Monitor competitive activity and market dynamics while championing digital tools to improve territory planning, forecasting accuracy, and distributor productivity.
- Own end-to-end tender strategy for public healthcare bids including opportunity identification, submission coordination, health economic modelling, and bid compliance.
- Build relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), reference sites, healthcare institutions, government agencies, regulatory bodies, and professional societies relevant to market access.

- 5–7 years’ experience in business development or channel/distributor management within medical devices or capital equipment sectors is essential.
- Strong product knowledge of airway management or urology devices sufficient to train distributor teams directly is highly valued.
- Proven ability to navigate healthcare regulatory processes including tender/RFP submissions across multiple Southeast Asian markets is crucial.
- Experience selecting negotiating with managing performance of distributor/channel partners within standardised pricing/contract frameworks is mandatory.
- Comfortable operating across diverse cultures without a local reporting structure demonstrating sensitivity to anti-corruption compliance requirements such as FCPA.
- Fluent English communication skills are required while proficiency in Bahasa Thai or Tagalog would be considered advantageous.
- Willingness to travel regionally often at short notice is expected for this role.
- Track record of building training or certification programmes from scratch is preferred but not essential.
- Existing market knowledge or relationships within Singapore Malaysia Thailand Indonesia or the Philippines healthcare systems would be beneficial.
