A leading international chemicals organisation is seeking a Manager Sales Technical Formulations for the Indian subcontinent, based in Singapore. What you'll do:

  • Collaborate closely with the Senior Manager Sales Asia Pacific to plan, target, and implement tailored sales strategies for various customers across the Indian subcontinent.
  • Build, maintain, and enhance long-term relationships with customers, distributors, and agents by providing consistent support and communication throughout the sales process.
  • Manage business through agents by securing new enquiries, checking product availability, making price offers based on guidelines, negotiating terms, and ensuring smooth order processing.
  • Oversee direct business interactions with customers by monitoring demand, offering competitive pricing, negotiating agreements, securing purchase orders, and facilitating efficient order fulfilment.
  • Establish agency and distribution agreements between agents/distributors and production assets to ensure compliance and optimise business operations.
  • Monitor the business environment by gathering and analysing market information to develop effective strategies and report insights for continuous improvement.
  • Identify opportunities for growth by developing and implementing comprehensive sales and marketing plans tailored to market needs.
  • Conduct monthly import/export data analysis for relevant countries and provide detailed reports on performance to senior management.
  • Quantify the value of product and service offerings to offset cost pressures while maintaining profitability through project development.
  • Prepare call reports after customer visits as well as periodical (monthly/quarterly) reports on sales achievements and market updates.

What you bring:

  • A university degree in a scientific field is required; preference is given to candidates from chemically related environments who can demonstrate relevant academic knowledge.
  • At least 10 years of proven experience in sales management within multinational or trading company settings is essential for success in this role.
  • A minimum of 5 years overseeing key account management responsibilities is necessary to ensure effective relationship building with major customers.
  • You bring a dependable approach as a self-starter who works independently while proactively contributing ideas within collaborative teams.
  • Your strong business acumen enables you to understand commercial drivers that influence decision-making processes across complex markets.
  • You possess knowledge of financial principles relevant to business operations as well as accounting practices that underpin successful trading activities.
  • Familiarity with trading practices—including import/export regulations—is vital for navigating international chemical markets effectively.
  • You are skilled at planning and executing business strategies that align with organisational goals while adapting flexibly to changing circumstances.
  • Proficiency in trading operations—including sales negotiations and marketing activities—allows you to deliver results across diverse channels.
  • Effective communication skills enable you to connect sensitively with internal stakeholders (logistics/supply chain/finance/customer service) as well as external partners (customers/agents/distributors).
  • A strong command of English at proficient business level ensures clarity in written correspondence and verbal presentations across multicultural contexts.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office applications (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) supports your ability to prepare detailed reports and analyse data efficiently.
