Strategic Business Development Lead
A leading organisation in the legal and professional services technology sector is seeking a Strategic Business Development Lead to drive growth through complex, enterprise-level solution sales across the APAC region.
This senior individual contributor role offers you the opportunity to shape how advanced workflow solutions are positioned, sold, and scaled for priority customers. You will be at the forefront of high-impact commercial opportunities, engaging deeply with clients and internal teams to create long-term value. The position provides significant autonomy and flexibility, allowing you to partner closely with stakeholders (reporting directly into the MD) and progress strategic opportunities from early discovery through to successful closure.
What you'll do:
- Lead discovery conversations with senior customer stakeholders to identify workflow challenges and improvement opportunities, ensuring that every interaction uncovers actionable insights.
- Develop clear, outcome-oriented value propositions that align with productivity enhancement, risk management, and operational performance goals for clients.
- Act as a consistent commercial lead throughout the full sales lifecycle, maintaining momentum from initial engagement through to deal closure.
- Orchestrate complex pursuits by assembling cross-functional deal teams including Relationship Managers, Solutions Consulting, Product, Enablement, and Marketing specialists.
- Shape pursuit strategies that address client needs while fostering alignment among multiple stakeholders within both client organisations and internal teams.
- Deliver high-impact executive presentations and pitches that translate workflow insight into tangible commercial and strategic outcomes for clients.
- Research priority prospects in the market and design account strategies that open new senior-level relationships and business opportunities.
- Co-create firm-specific pitch assets in collaboration with Marketing and Strategy teams to ensure resonance with partner and C-suite audiences.
- Codify repeatable workflow sales plays—such as talk tracks, discovery prompts, proof points—and transfer these into broader sales enablement initiatives for adoption across the team.
- Maintain deep understanding of the organisation’s suite of solutions and future roadmap while providing structured feedback on customer insight, workflow requirements, and product opportunities.
What you bring:
- 7-10+ years of experience with proven success leading complex enterprise or platform-based solution sales within technology-driven sectors.
- Demonstrated track record of closing senior economic-buyer deals where value was co-created, quantified, and proven over time through collaborative engagement.
- Experience operating in ambiguous or evolving markets where sales motion is being built rather than inherited; adaptability is essential.
- Strong familiarity with SaaS platforms, AI-enabled solutions, or legal/professional services technology environments.
- Ability to build relationships across multiple stakeholder groups both internally and externally; excellent interpersonal communication skills are vital.
- Proficiency in orchestrating cross-functional deal teams involving relationship managers, consultants, product experts, enablement specialists, and marketers.
- Skill in developing outcome-oriented value propositions aligned with client productivity goals and operational performance metrics.
- Capacity for delivering high-impact executive presentations that translate technical insights into strategic business outcomes for clients.
- Experience in researching market prospects and designing account strategies that open new senior-level relationships within target industries.
- Commitment to disciplined CRM reporting practices ensuring data integrity and pipeline visibility throughout all stages of the sales process.
