What you'll do:
As Global Ocean and Logistics Senior Manager based in Singapore’s AMEA Region HQ, you will play a central role in shaping the organisation’s approach to international logistics. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve developing robust sourcing strategies for ocean freight that balance cost efficiency with reliability. You will lead category management efforts by conducting market analyses, forecasting demand accurately, overseeing tender processes, negotiating contracts with carriers, and monitoring supplier performance.
- Develop comprehensive global ocean freight sourcing strategies that optimise costs, improve service levels, and drive operational efficiency across all relevant markets.
- Lead all aspects of ocean freight category management including market analysis, demand forecasting, tender processes, contract negotiation, and performance management.
- Cultivate strong strategic relationships with ocean freight carriers and service providers to ensure dependable partnerships on a global scale.
- Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders across Supply Chain, Planning, Operations, Finance, and other functions to manage expectations and align objectives across various geographies.
- Utilise advanced Excel skills and data analysis techniques to monitor market trends, analyse performance metrics, identify cost-saving opportunities, and provide insightful reports to senior leadership.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process efficiencies and implementing best practices in ocean freight sourcing and operations.
- Identify potential risks within the global ocean freight supply chain such as geopolitical impacts or capacity constraints and develop mitigation strategies accordingly.
- Ensure all sourcing activities adhere strictly to company policies, ethical guidelines, and relevant international trade regulations.
- Participate actively in hands-on execution by troubleshooting operational issues and supporting the implementation of sourcing strategies at every stage.
- Champion compliance throughout all procurement activities to maintain integrity within international logistics operations.
What you bring:
Your proven track record as a Global Ocean and Logistics Senior Manager will be evident through your extensive experience in international supply chain environments. You bring deep knowledge of ocean freight procurement processes—from strategic sourcing through contract negotiation—supported by advanced analytical skills that allow you to interpret complex data sets using Excel.
- Minimum of 15 years’ dedicated experience in ocean freight sourcing or procurement within a global supply chain environment is required for success in this role.
- Proven ability to manage complex logistics operations across multiple time zones while collaborating effectively with stakeholders distributed worldwide.
- Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel for manipulating data sets, analysing trends, generating reports, and supporting decision-making processes.
- Demonstrated experience leading end-to-end strategic sourcing processes including RFI/RFP management, negotiation tactics, contract administration, and supplier performance evaluation.
- Exceptional communication skills combined with strong negotiation abilities enable you to influence outcomes at all organisational levels.
- Advanced problem-solving capabilities paired with a proactive approach allow you to address challenges efficiently within international logistics networks.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or Logistics (or related field) is mandatory; Master’s degree or professional certifications such as CSCMP or APICS are highly desirable.
- Familiarity with CSO systems and e-sourcing platforms enhances your effectiveness in digital procurement environments.
- Ability to identify risks within global supply chains—including geopolitical impacts—and implement appropriate mitigation strategies demonstrates your dependability.
