What you'll do:
- Lead the development and execution of technical strategies covering ethanol’s role in road transport fuels, sustainable aviation fuels, marine fuels, and emerging low-carbon technologies.
- Provide expert policy and technical advice to senior leadership, board members, and organisational stakeholders to inform strategic decision-making.
- Monitor global technology trends, market developments, and regulatory changes impacting green fuels to ensure your organisation remains at the cutting edge of industry advancements.
- Develop robust technical positions, policy recommendations, and industry guidance documents that support both internal objectives and external advocacy efforts.
- Build and maintain a proprietary commercial and technical knowledge base by conducting comprehensive research across the ethanol value chain, fuel standards, vehicle technologies, lifecycle analysis methodologies, and greenhouse gas reduction strategies.
- Oversee the preparation of white papers, technical reports, market studies, and policy briefs; review deliverables produced by external consultants for quality assurance.
- Design country-specific policy frameworks and technical strategies that facilitate ethanol adoption in priority markets through direct engagement with governments and regulatory bodies.
- Represent your organisation at conferences, workshops, stakeholder meetings, and technical working groups; act as a spokesperson where appropriate to build credibility within the sector.
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams in delivering consultancy projects, feasibility studies, strategic initiatives, and event programmes on time and within budget.
- Mentor junior staff through internal training sessions; develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), reference materials, best practices documentation, and foster a culture of continuous learning.
What you bring:
- A degree in engineering, science or an energy-related discipline is essential for providing credible technical leadership within this specialised field.
- 12 years’ experience in transport fuels, biofuels or renewable energy industries equips you with deep sectoral understanding necessary for this role.
- Demonstrated expertise in biofuels—particularly ethanol—including familiarity with fuel formulation processes and specifications relevant to road transport, aviation or marine applications.
- Proven track record conducting policy research related to fuels or bioenergy ensures you can develop evidence-based recommendations for diverse audiences.
- Experience preparing high-quality technical reports such as white papers or market studies demonstrates your ability to communicate complex ideas clearly.
- Business aucumen in communication skills enable you to engage persuasively with stakeholders ranging from board members to government officials.
- Willingness to travel internationally reflects your commitment to building relationships across borders for maximum impact.
- Experience working with governments or international organisations gives you insight into regulatory processes critical for effective advocacy.
