A leading global financial services organisation is seeking a Senior Specialist, Corporate Communications, APAC to join their Singapore office. What you'll do:
- Manage and execute comprehensive strategic communications plans for the APAC region that align with broader organisational objectives in communications, marketing, and business development.
- Develop and nurture relationships between media outlets and company representatives to ensure accurate and positive coverage of business activities.
- Proactively pitch business stories and representatives for commentary pickup, thought leadership articles, interviews, and other relevant opportunities to enhance exposure.
- Draft press materials including talking points, executive op-eds, press releases, and marketing communications tailored to varied audiences.
- Train and support company spokespeople for various media formats by providing guidance on messaging consistency and effective delivery.
- Provide crisis management support to regional and global leadership teams during sensitive issues or reputational challenges.
- Oversee media monitoring efforts to track news coverage trends—both positive and negative—and guide strategy adjustments accordingly.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders such as Marketing, Product, Legal, HR, Operational Risk Management, and Executive teams to ensure cohesive communication strategies.
- Develop frameworks for regional communications strategies that include performance metrics aligned with leadership expectations and global standards.
- Prepare timely impact reports on regional communications strategies to demonstrate effectiveness and inform future planning.
What you bring:
- 6+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations or media relations ideally gained from both in-house roles and agency environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills enabling you to distil complex financial topics into clear messages suitable for varied audiences.
- Experience working with senior leaders demonstrating your ability to influence decision-making processes through thoughtful communication strategies.
- Keen attention to detail ensuring accuracy in all press materials, reports, and stakeholder interactions.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively across global teams within matrixed organisations.
- Deep media relationships throughout APAC including top-tier financial, business, and trade publications which facilitate successful outreach campaigns.
- Experience integrating media outreach with broader marketing initiatives such as thought leadership content creation, event management, and digital campaigns.
- Familiarity with metrics-based reporting methods allowing you to measure sentiment trends and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English or related field providing a solid foundation for success in this role.
