An established organisation in Singapore is seeking a hands-on HR Manager to lead its local HR function. The role involves overseeing full-spectrum HR operations, supporting a diverse frontline workforce across multiple locations and partnering with senior management. The ideal individual will be a resourceful and adaptable HR generalist who is comfortable balancing day-to-day operational responsibilities with HR leadership and stakeholder management.

What you'll do:

As the Human Resources Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the employee experience across multiple operating locations in Singapore. Your daily activities will involve managing all aspects of HR operations—from recruitment and onboarding through payroll administration to performance management—ensuring that each process runs smoothly for every member of the workforce.

  • Oversee comprehensive HR operations covering talent acquisition, payroll administration, employee relations, performance management, and HR administration for all staff categories.
  • Manage HR matters for a workforce comprising full-time, part-time, casual, and other employees across various operating locations in Singapore.
  • Supervise payroll processing, attendance tracking, roster management, and statutory compliance by collaborating closely with external service providers as needed.
  • Drive recruitment initiatives and manpower planning with particular focus on frontline and operational hiring requirements.
  • Partner with business leaders to address workforce challenges such as employee engagement, retention strategies, and performance improvement measures.
  • Provide expert HR advice, reporting, and recommendations to senior management to ensure alignment between business objectives and operational needs.
  • Lead a lean HR team while remaining actively involved in day-to-day HR execution to maintain high standards of service delivery.
  • Review existing HR policies, processes, and systems regularly to identify areas for enhancement that improve operational effectiveness and compliance.
  • Support the implementation of new HR initiatives aimed at fostering an inclusive culture and promoting employee wellbeing throughout the organisation.
  • Ensure adherence to Singapore employment legislation and statutory requirements related to manpower regulations.

What you bring:

Your proven experience as a Human Resources Manager will be instrumental in driving success within this role. You bring not only technical expertise in payroll administration and recruitment but also deep familiarity with Singapore’s employment landscape.

  • A solid background as an HR generalist with extensive hands-on experience managing Singapore-based HR operations including payroll administration and recruitment activities.
  • Proven track record supporting large-scale workforces within operationally complex environments such as retail, F&B, hospitality or other manpower-intensive sectors involving multi-site operations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Singapore employment legislation, statutory requirements, and manpower regulations relevant to diverse staffing needs.
  • Comfortable handling attendance management systems, shift-based work arrangements, roster complexities, and payroll-related issues efficiently.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate dependably within limited-resource settings while managing broad portfolios encompassing all facets of human resources.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills enabling effective stakeholder management; able to engage sensitively with senior management on workforce matters.
  • Resourceful approach combined with practical problem-solving abilities; adaptable when responding to changing business demands or unexpected challenges.
  • Experience leading small teams while maintaining active involvement in day-to-day HR functions; supportive leadership style that fosters collaboration among colleagues.
  • Ability to review existing policies critically and recommend improvements that enhance operational effectiveness without compromising compliance or inclusivity.
  • Commitment to nurturing an inclusive workplace culture where every employee feels valued regardless of their employment status or background.

What sets this company apart:

This is an opportunity to join an established organisation with a strong presence in Singapore. The role offers broad exposure to HR operations within a dynamic, people-intensive environment, working closely with business leaders to support day-to-day operations and workforce needs.
