Director People & Culture
A leading organisation in Singapore is seeking a Director, People & Culture to lead the full spectrum of HR. This pivotal role combines strategic leadership with hands-on oversight of HR operations, driving organisational effectiveness, employee engagement and leadership capability. You will shape people strategies, support AI transformation and ensure the workforce is equipped for the future, while aligning HR practices with long-term business objectives.
What you'll do:
As Director, People & Culture in Singapore, you will play a central role in shaping the organisation’s people strategy while maintaining close involvement in daily HR operations. Your responsibilities will span strategic partnership with senior leaders to drive business-aligned people initiatives; overseeing workforce planning; managing talent acquisition; implementing robust performance management systems; developing learning programmes; handling complex employee relations matters; administering compensation frameworks; ensuring compliance with local legislation; driving process improvements; leveraging data and technology to inform decision-making; and supporting the organisation’s AI strategy and adoption, including assessing the impact of AI on workforce capabilities, roles and ways of working. You will coach and develop your team, build trusted relationships across all levels, and lead change initiatives. Success in this role requires a blend of strategic vision and operational execution, with the ability to connect with stakeholders at every level while fostering an inclusive culture that supports both individual growth and collective achievement.
- Lead the end-to-end Human Resources function by providing strategic direction alongside hands-on operational leadership that ensures excellence across all HR activities.
- Partner with senior leadership teams to develop and implement people strategies that are fully aligned with business priorities and support organisational growth.
- Drive workforce planning initiatives including organisational design, succession planning, talent management, and organisational development projects that enhance overall effectiveness.
- Oversee the entire talent lifecycle from attraction and recruitment through onboarding, retention strategies, and ongoing workforce planning to ensure optimal staffing.
- Lead performance management processes as well as learning and development programmes that nurture leadership capability and foster employee engagement throughout the organisation.
- Provide trusted guidance on complex employee relations matters such as investigations, disciplinary cases, grievances, performance issues, and other sensitive topics requiring discretion.
- Manage compensation and benefits frameworks including salary benchmarking exercises, annual remuneration reviews, HR budgeting processes, and compliance with internal governance standards.
- Drive continuous improvement across HR processes by enhancing systems, reporting mechanisms, policies, procedures, and leveraging people analytics for informed decision-making.
- Coach and develop the HR team by fostering a collaborative culture that encourages accountability while supporting professional growth within a high-performing environment.
What you bring:
As Director, People & Culture, you will bring 10–15 years of progressive HR experience, with broad expertise across talent acquisition, organisational development, performance management, L&D, employee relations, compensation & benefits, HR operations and Singapore employment legislation. You will have experience developing HR policies and frameworks, with an understanding of AI and its impact on the future of work, including supporting AI-related people strategies and responsible adoption. A trusted senior stakeholder partner and strong people leader, you will combine commercial acumen, analytical thinking and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to coach teams, lead change and drive continuous improvement with integrity and discretion.
- Degree in Human Resources or Business or related discipline is required for this position; postgraduate or professional HR qualifications are considered advantageous for candidates seeking further credibility.
- Approximately 10–15 years of progressive experience in Human Resources is expected including significant exposure in senior HR leadership or business partnering roles within complex organisations.
- Broad expertise across talent acquisition processes as well as organisational development strategies is essential for success in this role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of performance management systems coupled with experience designing learning & development programmes will enable you to drive employee engagement effectively.
- Demonstrated proficiency in employee relations including handling investigations, disciplinary cases, grievances, and other sensitive matters requiring sound judgement is vital.
- Strong understanding of compensation & benefits frameworks including salary benchmarking exercises as well as annual remuneration reviews is necessary for managing rewards fairly.
- Proven track record of partnering with senior stakeholders while influencing business decisions through commercially focused HR advice is highly valued by the organisation.
- Exceptional leadership skills combined with people management capabilities allow you to coach mentor develop HR professionals within a collaborative accountable team environment.
- Excellent communication influencing relationship-building skills are required for engaging stakeholders at all levels while fostering trust throughout the organisation.
- Advanced analytical abilities paired with problem-solving skills empower you to leverage HR data insights supporting workforce planning informed business decisions.
