This pivotal role is designed for someone who thrives on driving profitable and sustainable market share growth through the design and execution of cross-functional strategic initiatives. The organisation is committed to elevating operational effectiveness by simplifying processes, optimising the operating model, and fostering a culture of transparency and data-driven decision-making. As the Business Development Director, you will be at the forefront of decoding market dynamics, championing innovative data and AI projects, and managing a diverse portfolio of high-impact strategic initiatives. You will work closely with senior leadership to shape the future direction of the business, ensuring that every project aligns with broader organisational goals.

What you'll do:

As Business Development Director, you will play an instrumental role in shaping both short-term actions and long-term strategies for market expansion across South East Asia. Your day-to-day activities will involve close collaboration with senior leaders from various departments to ensure seamless execution of high-priority projects. You will be responsible for translating complex analytics into actionable recommendations that drive business performance while also facilitating workshops and reviews that keep everyone aligned on shared goals. By championing process improvements and supporting change management efforts, you will help create an agile operating model capable of responding quickly to evolving market conditions. Your ability to foster strong relationships between regional leadership, local teams, and global stakeholders will be essential in synchronising efforts towards common objectives. Ultimately, your contributions will enable faster decision-making processes grounded in robust data insights while nurturing a high-performance culture throughout the organisation.

  • Drive the development and execution of the South East Asia Strategic Business Plan in partnership with the General Manager and leadership team across brand, channels, and enabling functions.
  • Lead strategic planning sessions and oversee key projects that are critical to commercial success throughout the region.
  • Evaluate, design, and implement new or optimised commercial models tailored for different markets within South East Asia.
  • Provide robust oversight, coordination, and management of the company’s strategic priorities portfolio using a systematic project management approach.
  • Facilitate business reviews, strategy workshops, and annual priority-setting sessions to ensure alignment across all stakeholders.
  • Manage end-to-end execution of key strategic initiatives across senior leadership stakeholders in South East Asia.
  • Identify risks proactively, escalate decisions when necessary, and secure alignment among diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Prioritise and coordinate cross-functional initiatives to maximise their impact on business objectives.
  • Standardise and simplify processes in accordance with global guidelines while leading organisational transformation efforts.
  • Act as the regional champion for Data & Analytics and AI initiatives, fostering a data-driven culture across departments.

What you bring:

To excel as Business Development Director, you will bring extensive experience navigating complex organisational structures where collaboration is key to achieving results. Your background should include significant exposure to finance or commercial operations combined with hands-on involvement in strategy formulation or project delivery within dynamic environments. A deep understanding of how to manage change effectively—balancing stakeholder interests while keeping sight of overarching business goals—will set you apart. Your advanced technical skills allow you to distil large volumes of data into meaningful insights that inform decision-making at every level. In addition to your professional qualifications, your interpersonal strengths enable you to build rapport quickly with colleagues from diverse backgrounds. Your commitment to continuous learning ensures you remain adaptable as industry trends evolve. Above all else, your passion for fostering inclusive teamwork makes you an invaluable asset who inspires others through empathy and shared purpose.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functionally at senior levels within large matrixed organisations over an extended period.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking skills supported by clear communication abilities that articulate complex ideas effectively.
  • A minimum of 12 years’ experience spanning finance, commercial operations, strategy development, project management or change management roles within multi-channel or consulting environments.
  • Proven track record of managing high-impact projects from conception through execution while maintaining stakeholder engagement throughout.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is essential for effective communication across diverse teams.
  • A university degree in business or related field—preferably with specialisation in finance, marketing or sales—is required.
  • Experience working within apparel/footwear/fashion or fast-moving consumer goods industries is highly desirable but not mandatory.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that foster trust-based relationships with colleagues at all levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to translate analytical findings into practical business recommendations that drive measurable outcomes.
