A leading global financial institution is seeking an AVP, Credit Risk to join its Singapore-based team. This is a unique opportunity for you to play a pivotal role in managing credit risk exposure across Asia (excluding Japan), with a particular focus on South-East Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.

What you'll do:

As an AVP, Credit Risk, you will immerse yourself in the dynamic world of credit risk management by engaging directly with clients through due diligence activities and participating in critical credit conversations.

  • Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve conducting deep-dive analyses into borrower profiles, preparing comprehensive Credit Memos that inform key decision-makers, and prescribing robust terms for both derivative and loan transactions.
  • You will play an integral role in presenting your findings to senior stakeholders, approving trades within established limits, and proactively monitoring the portfolio for emerging risks.
  • Success in this role requires not only technical proficiency but also strong communication skills, as you will collaborate extensively with internal teams while staying attuned to evolving market conditions.
  • Your ability to synthesise complex information into actionable insights will be instrumental in safeguarding the organisation’s interests while supporting its growth objectives.

What you bring:

To excel as an AVP, Credit Risk, you will bring substantial experience from previous roles focused on corporate credit analysis within financial services.

  • A minimum of a Master’s degree or equivalent professional qualification such as Chartered Accountant or CFA is required for this position.
  • At least five years’ experience analysing corporate entities within a reputable financial services organisation is essential.
  • Demonstrated expertise in conducting thorough credit due diligence processes is necessary for success in this role.
  • Exceptional written communication skills are needed to produce high-quality Credit Memos that clearly articulate complex analyses.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities are vital for effective participation in client meetings and internal discussions alike.
  • A proven track record as a dependable team player who thrives in collaborative environments is highly valued by the organisation.
  • Adaptability is important given the need to respond constructively to changing priorities or new information within fast-evolving markets.
  • Sound judgement when assessing counterparty risk exposures across various products including loans and derivatives is expected.
  • Familiarity with legal documentation such as ISDA/CSA agreements or GMRA is advantageous but not mandatory if you have strong analytical foundations.
  • A commitment to continuous learning about market developments, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices will help you excel.
