What you'll do:

As a Derivatives Investment Operations Analyst based in Singapore, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the daily operations of the derivatives desk. Your responsibilities will span managing cleared CDX products according to market standards, overseeing futures clearing/settlement processes using your expertise in CCPs, handling IRS lifecycle events from trade submission through termination, resolving breaks/failing trades swiftly through collaboration with internal/external stakeholders, investigating claims/debit interest thoroughly for accurate resolution, responding efficiently to queries from clients/business partners/third parties, supporting audits with meticulous documentation preparation, reviewing processes/procedures regularly for improvement opportunities that drive efficiency/effectiveness across the team.

  • Undertake day-to-day duties as necessary and provide dependable coverage during periods of high volumes or unexpected absences, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Ensure defined standards, procedures, and policies are appropriately followed while identifying potential efficiencies to enhance workflow.
  • Meet all deadlines and deliverables both individually and as part of a communal team, demonstrating commitment to shared goals.
  • Escalate exceptions and issues promptly to the Head of Transaction Processing, maintaining open lines of communication for effective problem resolution.
  • Conduct ongoing reviews of processes and procedures to identify areas for improvement that maximise efficiency and effectiveness within the department.
  • Develop good working relations with other departments such as Investment Managers, Legal, Risk Management and Control, Distribution, Finance, HR, as well as third-party service providers.
  • Provide coverage for non-core Singapore business hours by supporting UK market activities when required.
  • Manage cleared CDX (Credit Default Swap Index) products in line with market and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Oversee the clearing and settlement of Futures transactions by applying your working knowledge of major Central Counterparties (CCPs).
  • Manage cleared IRS (Interest Rate Swap) lifecycle events including trade submission, novation, compression, portfolio reconciliation, and termination.
  • Support onboarding of new Derivatives products by collaborating with internal teams and external partners.
  • Ensure prompt resolution of breaks and failing trades by liaising with necessary internal and external groups as required.

The ideal candidate for the Derivatives Investment Operations Analyst position brings proven experience in transaction processing gained over at least three years within financial services or investment banking. Your deep understanding of the trade lifecycle equips you with the ability to handle complex derivatives transactions confidently—from initiation through settlement or termination. You possess solid knowledge of derivatives products (including emerging markets), enabling you to navigate diverse asset classes effectively. Your strong organisational skills ensure consistent delivery against deadlines while maintaining accuracy/responsibility throughout all tasks. clearing/settlement/risk management processes globally.   • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in Transaction Processing within financial services or investment banking environments is essential for this role.
  • Demonstrate an excellent understanding of the trade lifecycle from initiation through settlement/termination which enables you to manage complex derivatives transactions confidently.
  • Solid knowledge of Derivatives products—including familiarity with emerging markets—will allow you to navigate diverse asset classes effectively.
  • Proven ability to develop positive working relationships across multiple departments (Investment Management/Legal/Risk/Distribution/Finance/HR) as well as third-party service providers is crucial for success.
  • Strong organisational skills enable you to meet deadlines/deliverables consistently while maintaining high standards of accuracy/responsibility.
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills are required for responding efficiently to queries/escalating issues/recommending solutions within a collaborative team environment.
  • Experience managing cleared CDX/Futures/IRS products—including lifecycle events such as trade submission/novation/compression/reconciliation/termination—is highly desirable.
  • Ability to investigate/validate debit interest or claims thoroughly ensures prompt resolution of counterparty/custodian disputes.
