Internal Audit Manager (Fund Management)

What you'll do:
As Internal Audit Manager, you will take ownership of establishing a rigorous internal audit framework that underpins the integrity of fund management operations.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive risk-based internal audit plan tailored to the firm’s business objectives, regulatory requirements, and diverse fund structures.
- Execute detailed internal audits covering all aspects of fund management operations, including governance processes, regulatory compliance, financial controls, valuation procedures, outsourcing arrangements, and operational risks.
- Review and assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls throughout the organisation to ensure alignment with industry standards and best practices.
- Evaluate compliance with Singapore regulatory requirements such as MAS licensing conditions, guidelines on risk management, internal controls, and business conduct.
- Assess governance frameworks by examining escalation processes, segregation of duties, and oversight mechanisms implemented by senior management and the board.
- Support regulatory inspections by preparing documentation and responding to audit-related queries from authorities when required.
- Prepare clear, concise internal audit reports that include practical recommendations focused on mitigating risks for both management and the board.
- Track audit findings diligently by following up on remediation actions to ensure timely closure of identified issues.
- Maintain thorough documentation and audit working papers in accordance with professional standards to support transparency and accountability.
What you bring:
Your proven track record as an Internal Audit Manager will demonstrate extensive experience within fund management or asset management sectors ideally spanning at least ten years with direct involvement in internal audits or risk/compliance reviews at regulated financial institutions.
- Direct exposure to auditing or reviewing real estate funds, REIT managers, private funds or asset managers is strongly preferred for this position.
- Familiarity with MAS-regulated entities along with deep understanding of Singapore’s regulatory environment is crucial for success.
- Experience coordinating cross-border audits or working collaboratively with regional stakeholders in Australia or Korea will be viewed favourably.
- Professional qualifications such as CIA (Certified Internal Auditor), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CA (Chartered Accountant), ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) or equivalent are highly desirable.
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related discipline forms the foundation for your technical expertise.
- Strong grasp of risk-based auditing methodologies combined with knowledge of internal controls within regulated environments is required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are needed to present audit findings clearly to senior stakeholders across different regions.
- Detail-oriented mindset coupled with sound judgment enables you to operate effectively within a lean organisational structure.
- Comfortable adopting a hands-on approach while collaborating closely with various teams including compliance, finance, operations and investment.
