Save job

A leading global investment management organisation is seeking a Senior Corporate Governance Specialist to join their respected Legal and Compliance team in Singapore. This is an exceptional opportunity for you to play a pivotal role in supporting corporate governance activities across Europe, Asia Pacific, and the Middle East, with a particular focus on entities and boards serviced from the Singapore office.

What you'll do:

As a Senior Corporate Governance Specialist based in Singapore, you will play an integral role in ensuring the smooth operation of corporate governance activities across Europe, Asia Pacific, and the Middle East.

  • Manage corporate calendars by coordinating board and committee meetings and events across multiple time zones, ensuring all logistics are handled efficiently and effectively.
  • Prepare, collect, and draft high-quality meeting materials for boards and committees, maintaining meticulous attention to detail at every stage.
  • Provide day-to-day support for EAPAC & ME corporate governance matters, ensuring seamless continuity of service to local boards, management companies, and affiliated entities.
  • Oversee regulatory and statutory filings by managing submissions with relevant regulators and registries, monitoring deadlines closely to ensure accurate and timely compliance.
  • Contribute to or lead department projects such as governance policy updates, process improvements, and cross-border initiatives in coordination with colleagues in Europe and the United States.
  • Act as a trusted point of contact in Singapore for internal stakeholders, external counsel, directors, and service providers while partnering closely with global Legal & Compliance colleagues.
  • Serve as back-up to other team members across regions by sharing expertise generously and supporting a 'one team' approach for global consistency.
  • Support knowledge sharing within the team by contributing insights that enhance best practices across the wider EAPAC & ME region.
  • Exercise sound judgement on both standardised processes and non-routine matters under limited supervision while representing the local face of a globally distributed team.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned to ensure the smooth operation of all corporate governance activities.

What you bring:

To excel as a Senior Corporate Governance Specialist in this environment, you will bring proven experience from roles involving oversight functions such as compliance or legal support within financial services or similarly regulated industries.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting corporate governance or similar functions within compliance or legal departments—ideally within the financial industry—enabling you to navigate complex regulatory environments with confidence.
  • Strong organisational skills that allow you to manage multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising quality or deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail when preparing documentation or handling sensitive information related to board activities or regulatory filings.
  • Excellent communication skills enabling you to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels across different regions and cultures.
  • Proven ability to collaborate successfully with cross-functional teams located internationally while maintaining consistent governance standards.
  • Functional knowledge of corporate governance principles as well as regulatory compliance requirements relevant to multinational organisations.
  • Experience working independently under limited supervision while exercising sound judgement on both routine procedures and unexpected issues.
  • Customer-focused mindset that ensures stakeholder needs are met promptly through dependable service delivery.
  • Commitment to diligence, collaboration, stakeholder partnership, continuous learning, and strategic thinking as expected of all Legal & Compliance associates.
  • Comfort operating as the local representative of a globally distributed team while building trust-based relationships internally and externally.
