AML Compliance Analyst
A leading financial services organisation in Singapore is seeking an experienced AML Compliance Analyst to join their compliance team. What you'll do:
As an AML Compliance Analyst, you will be at the forefront of developing comprehensive frameworks that protect the organisation from financial crime risks.
- Design and establish internal practices, measures, procedures, and controls relevant to the prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing during new client onboarding processes.
- Detect, record, and evaluate risks arising from both existing and new clients as well as new financial instruments or services, updating systems and procedures accordingly for effective risk management.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to employees regarding compliance with applicable laws related to anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-financing of terrorism (CFT).
- Review and update AML/CFT policies and procedures as required, ensuring timely communication of changes to the Board for approval.
- Monitor the correct implementation of policies, procedures, and internal manuals across departments to maintain high standards of compliance.
- Apply appropriate monitoring mechanisms that deliver essential information for assessing departmental adherence to established controls.
- Offer guidance on corrective actions when shortcomings or weaknesses are identified in policy application, reporting these issues as necessary.
- Conduct ongoing reviews of daily, weekly, monthly, and client exception reports to ensure any anomalies are thoroughly investigated.
- Act as Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO), receiving reports from employees regarding suspicions or knowledge of money laundering or terrorist financing activities.
- Evaluate suspicious activity reports using all available information; prepare internal or external reports for regulators when required.
- Assist the Head of Compliance in responding to requests from regulatory authorities such as MAS (Monetary Authority of Singapore) during investigations or audits.
- Support the preparation of annual employee AML training programmes by identifying training needs across departments and organising relevant sessions.
What you bring:
To excel as an AML Compliance Analyst, you should bring at least 3 to 5 years of experiences on financial crime prevention within regulated environments.
- Proven experience in anti-money laundering (AML) or counter-financing of terrorism (CFT) roles within financial services or regulated industries is highly desirable for this position.
- Comprehensive understanding of Singaporean regulatory requirements relating to AML/CFT frameworks is essential for success in this role.
- Demonstrated ability to design, implement, review, and update policies and procedures aimed at mitigating financial crime risks is required.
- Strong analytical skills enabling you to detect potential risks from client profiles or transactions are vital for effective performance.
- Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary for providing clear guidance on compliance matters across multiple departments.
