Manager, Compliance Control Room (Contract)

What you'll do:
As Manager, Compliance Control Room you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the integrity of business operations across Asia Pacific.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Asia Pacific Compliance Control Room, ensuring adherence to governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures across all business lines.
- Support senior leadership in delivering the compliance programme for Global Banking and Markets as well as Treasury businesses throughout the region.
- Collaborate with global Control Room colleagues to administer issuer programmes, including managing sensitive information barriers, conflict clearance processes, research disclosures, and securities aggregation.
- Lead conduct incident and breach management by developing frameworks, investigating potential breaches, coordinating with stakeholders such as HR, and reporting outcomes to senior management.
- Provide expert advice on policy interpretation and application for complex compliance matters while escalating issues beyond standard policies when necessary.
- Deliver training sessions for compliance teams on procedures related to conduct incidents, personal trading requests, gifts and entertainment approvals, and outside business activities.
- Prepare responses to regulatory inquiries concerning central compliance functions and maintain up-to-date documentation on relevant policies and procedures.
- Undertake surveillance activities by performing periodic testing on employee disclosures and requests to ensure ongoing compliance with established standards.
- Participate in the implementation of global compliance transformation initiatives by collaborating with local teams to meet all regulatory requirements specific to each jurisdiction.
- Identify opportunities for technology enhancements within compliance processes by liaising with development teams to drive project delivery focused on efficiency gains.
What you bring:
To excel as Manager, Compliance Control Room you will bring a wealth of experience from previous roles in financial services or banking environments where you have demonstrated your expertise in navigating complex regulatory landscapes.
- Minimum 5-6 years of relevant experience in compliance or risk management within financial services or banking sectors is essential for this position.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Monetary Authority of Singapore regulations is required; familiarity with other Asia Pacific jurisdictional regulations would be advantageous.
- Demonstrated understanding of financial services operations including sales, trading, mergers & acquisitions, capital markets, and organisational structures is important.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are needed for preparing reports, responding to regulatory inquiries, and delivering training sessions across diverse audiences.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) along with strong internet research capabilities is expected.
- Excellent analytical abilities combined with meticulous attention to detail are vital for conducting surveillance activities and reviewing complex disclosures or requests.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills are necessary for building dependable relationships with client groups as well as collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to handle confidential information sensitively while exercising sound judgement in moderately complex situations is required.
- Outstanding planning, organisational, and time-management skills are essential for managing high volumes of work under stringent deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- A bachelor’s degree or higher qualification is mandatory; additional certifications in compliance or risk management would be beneficial.
