Accountant (9 months)
This role offers you the opportunity to play a pivotal part in managing and overseeing accounting and financial reporting activities for both the group and the funds managed by the company. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will ensure the accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of financial records and reports, while also supporting finance-related tasks and projects.
What you'll do:
As an Accountant (Contract), you will be entrusted with responsibilities that are central to maintaining the organisation’s financial integrity.
- Prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for both the group and the funds managed by the company, ensuring all documentation is accurate and timely.
- Conduct detailed account reconciliations and analyse discrepancies to maintain precision in financial statements.
- Ensure all financial reporting meets regulatory requirements and adheres strictly to statutory laws and financial regulations.
- Manage the general ledger and oversee end-to-end accounting operations including journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other transactional activities.
- Maintain meticulous records and documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures to support accurate accounting and financial management.
- Facilitate coordination with external and internal auditors during audits to ensure compliance and integrity of financial data.
- Uphold internal controls to enhance financial accuracy and prevent discrepancies throughout all accounting processes.
- Assist in tax preparation and filings with tax agents to ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes by providing reliable data analysis and insights.
- Act as a dependable team player by working collaboratively within the finance department and across the organisation to ensure cohesive financial management.
What you bring:
To excel as an Accountant (Contract), you bring proven experience from previous roles involving entity-level financial closing—showcasing your ability to manage complex accounting functions accurately.
- Prior experience in entity-level financial closing is highly preferred as it demonstrates your capability in handling complex accounting operations.
- A minimum of a diploma in accounting ensures you possess foundational knowledge required for this role.
- Your meticulous attention to detail enables you to maintain accurate records and identify discrepancies effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills allow you to collaborate seamlessly within the finance department as well as across other teams.
- Experience with general ledger management equips you to handle end-to-end accounting operations efficiently.
- Familiarity with statutory laws, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards ensures all reporting aligns with legal obligations.
- Ability to facilitate audit processes shows your dependability in maintaining integrity of financial data.
- Competence in supporting tax preparation demonstrates your understanding of relevant tax regulations.
