What you'll do:

As a Relationship Manager, Private Banking (Malaysian Market) specialist, you will be engaging deeply with clients to understand their aspirations while crafting personalised strategies that encompass investments, lending solutions, wealth planning, and more.

  • Cultivate, manage, and deepen enduring relationships with high-net-worth Malaysian clients and across the region by understanding their unique financial goals and family priorities.
  • Assess clients’ financial objectives, risk profiles, and investment preferences to recommend suitable wealth planning strategies, investment products, lending options, and other private banking services tailored specifically for them.
  • Actively identify new business opportunities within the Malaysian market by leveraging your established network and generating referrals through trusted connections.
  • Collaborate closely with internal product specialists to design holistic financial solutions that integrate investment management, estate planning, credit facilities, and other bespoke offerings.
  • Stay abreast of evolving market trends, regulatory changes, competitive dynamics, and emerging investment products to ensure clients receive timely advice aligned with their interests.
  • Prepare detailed client reviews, comprehensive financial plans, and well-structured proposals that demonstrate your commitment to transparency and responsible stewardship.
  • Ensure strict adherence to internal policies as well as local regulatory guidelines by maintaining robust compliance practices throughout all client interactions.
  • Deliver an exceptional client experience focused on retention, loyalty, satisfaction, and long-term partnership by consistently exceeding expectations at every touchpoint.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to share knowledge, coordinate service delivery, and contribute positively to the overall success of the Private Banking division.

What you bring:

To excel as a Relationship Manager, Private Banking (Malaysian Market) expert, you will bring extensive experience working directly with affluent Malaysian clients in either private banking or wealth management settings.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics or a related discipline demonstrating strong academic foundations relevant to private banking.
  • More than six years of proven experience in private banking or wealth management roles with direct responsibility for managing high-net-worth Malaysian clients.
  • Comprehensive understanding of investment products including equities, fixed income instruments, structured products as well as wealth planning strategies such as trusts or estate planning vehicles.
  • Demonstrated success in acquiring new clients through effective networking within the Malaysian community coupled with excellent relationship management skills.
  • Outstanding communication abilities enabling you to present complex financial concepts clearly while building rapport with sophisticated clientele.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills marked by empathy, sensitivity to cultural nuances, discretion when handling confidential information, and genuine care for client wellbeing.
  • Ability to work independently yet thrive in collaborative environments where sharing knowledge enhances collective outcomes for both clients and colleagues alike.
  • Up-to-date awareness of regulatory requirements governing private banking activities along with a commitment to ethical conduct at all times.
  • Strong organisational skills allowing you to manage multiple priorities efficiently without compromising attention to detail or quality of service.
