  • Benefit from continuous training opportunities and knowledge sharing sessions designed to help you grow professionally within a dependable team.
  • Work in an inclusive environment with supportive leadership that values collaboration, empathy, and personal development.

What you'll do:

As a General Ledger Accountant based in Singapore, you will be responsible for overseeing the integrity of the organisation’s financial records through meticulous month-end processes. Your day-to-day activities will involve posting accruals, managing cost reallocations, handling prepayments, and ensuring all open purchase order accrual journals are accurately recorded. You will run fixed asset depreciation cycles, confirm loan balances, perform Work Breakdown Structure settlements, execute revaluations on key accounts, review general ledger transactions, prepare intercompany summaries, reconcile loans, process withholding tax transactions, manage SAP period-end closings, submit cash flow statistics, prepare continuity schedules for PPE and intangible assets, perform balance sheet reconciliations using reconciliation worksheets and OneStream, complete SOX journal reviews, prepare quarterly survey submissions related to exploration and capital expenditure, drive process improvements to reduce month-end close timelines, perform annual SAP year-end rollover activities, lead finance improvement projects such as fixed asset disposals or ledger clean-up activities, respond to HQ Finance queries regarding FX or loans or fixed assets or other matters, act as the key SAP user troubleshooting system issues for supervisors or Payroll or Accounts Payable or PO raisers or other departments resolving finance-related errors, prepare responses for audit or Fringe Benefits Tax queries including supporting documentation, generate Form 5 tenement reports as required by regulatory bodies, and undertake ad hoc duties assigned by your supervisor. Success in this role requires not only technical proficiency but also a collaborative approach when supporting colleagues across departments.

  • Post monthly accruals, cost reallocations, prepayments, and open purchase order accrual journals to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Run monthly fixed asset depreciation and loan confirmation processes to maintain up-to-date asset registers and verify loan balances.
  • Perform monthly Work Breakdown Structure settlements to allocate costs appropriately across projects and departments.
  • Execute monthly revaluations for accounts payable, accounts receivable, loans, and other liability general ledger accounts to reflect current financial positions.
  • Review monthly general ledger transactions and trial balance to identify discrepancies and ensure completeness of financial data.
  • Prepare monthly intercompany accounts payable and accounts receivable summaries for reconciliation between business units.
  • Reconcile monthly loan balances by comparing internal records with external confirmations to guarantee accuracy.
  • Process monthly loan interest withholding tax transactions and share investment revaluations as part of compliance requirements.
  • Manage monthly SAP period-end closing and locking activities to facilitate smooth transitions between reporting periods.
  • Submit monthly actual cash flow statistics for management review and decision-making purposes.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the General Ledger Accountant role brings proven experience in financial accounting gained over four to five years within similar environments. Your academic background includes a bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; progress toward CPA or CA qualifications would further strengthen your profile but is not mandatory. You possess hands-on expertise with SAP systems—preferably S4 HANA—and demonstrate advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. Your ability to manage time effectively ensures deadlines are met without compromising quality. Interpersonal skills are crucial: you thrive when collaborating with others yet remain dependable when working autonomously. Clear communication allows you to bridge gaps between finance functions and other departments. Experience with reconciliation tools like OneStream reflects your meticulous approach. You have actively contributed towards process improvements that streamline workflows. Responding efficiently to audit requests showcases your reliability during critical periods. Your combination of technical know-how and soft skills makes you an invaluable addition to any finance team.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting is required; progress toward a professional qualification such as Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) is advantageous but not essential.
  • 4-5 years of experience in financial accounting and reporting provides you with the practical knowledge needed for this position.
  • Working knowledge of SAP systems is necessary; familiarity with S4 HANA (web version) will be highly regarded.
  • High-level computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite Excel and Word enables you to efficiently handle complex data analysis tasks.
  • Well-developed time management skills allow you to prioritise multiple responsibilities effectively during busy reporting periods.
  • Strong interpersonal skills ensure you can collaborate well within teams while also being dependable when working independently.
  • Excellent communication abilities help you explain complex financial concepts clearly to colleagues from different departments.
  • Experience with balance sheet reconciliations using reconciliation worksheets or OneStream demonstrates your attention to detail.
  • Ability to drive process improvements shows your commitment to enhancing efficiency within finance operations.
  • Proven track record responding promptly to audit queries or regulatory requests highlights your reliability under pressure.
