FP&A Analyst - 1 Year contract
A leading global organisation is seeking a Financial Planning and Analysis Analyst to join their APAC team in Singapore. This is an exceptional opportunity for you to play a pivotal role in supporting financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes across the region.
What you'll do:
As a Financial Planning and Analysis Analyst based in Singapore, you will play an integral role in supporting the financial health of the APAC region. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve assisting with critical planning cycles such as budgeting and forecasting while ensuring all system submissions are completed accurately using industry-standard tools like IBM Planning Analytics and SAP. You will prepare insightful weekly reports for management review, contribute to monthly closing activities by processing journals, analyse financial performance data, track marketing spend, maintain pricing databases, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams. Your ability to work effectively with both local colleagues and global counterparts will be essential as you help drive informed decision-making through robust analysis. In addition to regular duties, you will have opportunities to participate in key meetings such as QBRs or CBPs, support allocation tracking initiatives, conduct product profitability analyses, maintain up-to-date SKU listings, assist with master price list management for 3PM operations, and contribute your expertise to special projects at both regional and global levels. Success in this position requires not only technical competence but also excellent communication skills, attention to detail, adaptability when facing new challenges or systems changes, enthusiasm for learning new concepts or tools quickly—and above all—a genuine passion for supporting others within a collaborative team environment.
- Assist in the planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes for the APAC region by gathering data, preparing templates, and ensuring timely submissions.
- Support the consolidation and analysis of APAC results for accurate management reporting, collaborating closely with both regional and global finance teams.
- Create budget and forecast templates that facilitate efficient data collection and reporting across multiple business units.
- Take responsibility for system submissions using IBM Planning Analytics and SAP, ensuring all deadlines are met according to group requirements.
- Prepare weekly APAC reports for management review, providing clear insights into key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial trends.
- Support monthly and year-end regional reporting activities by reviewing financial performance data and processing month-end journals for management reporting purposes.
- Assist with coding marketing invoices, tracking marketing expenditures, and maintaining compliance with price ladder processes as per APAC requirements and global pricing guidance.
- Ensure completeness and timely maintenance of the Pricing Database to support accurate pricing decisions across the region.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to derive accurate monthly volume forecasts and top-line delivery for third-party manufacturing (3PM), maintaining master price lists and SKU listings.
- Participate in quarterly business reviews (QBR), 3PM customer business planning meetings (CBP), allocation tracking, product profitability analysis, and provide support on both APAC-wide and global projects as required.
What you bring:
To excel as a Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst in this role based in Singapore’s vibrant APAC hub requires more than just technical proficiency—you bring proven experience navigating complex FP&A environments where accuracy matters just as much as timeliness. Your background includes hands-on involvement with budgeting cycles; preparing detailed management reports; analysing variances; maintaining pricing databases; coding invoices; tracking expenditures—all underpinned by recognised professional qualifications like CPA/ACCA/CIMA. Beyond hard skills though: your interpersonal strengths shine through every interaction—whether collaborating on cross-functional projects or presenting findings at stakeholder meetings. You are known among peers for your reliability under pressure; your willingness to share knowledge generously; your sensitivity towards others’ workloads during peak periods; your openness when faced with unfamiliar challenges—and above all—for fostering trust within teams through honest communication. Your curiosity drives you forward: always eager not only to understand ‘what’ happened financially but also ‘why’, so recommendations can be made thoughtfully rather than reactively. With each new project comes another chance for growth—and you embrace these opportunities enthusiastically because they align perfectly with both personal ambitions (to become even more knowledgeable) AND organisational goals (to deliver best-in-class financial insight).
- At least two years’ experience working within the field of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), ideally supporting multi-country or regional operations.
- Professional accounting qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent that demonstrates your technical competence in accounting rules.
- Proven experience using Microsoft Office applications—particularly advanced Excel skills—for data analysis, modelling scenarios or preparing reports.
- Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as SAP along with exposure to IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) for system submissions or consolidations.
- Excellent communication skills enabling you to explain complex financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders while building positive relationships across functions.
- A keen analytical mindset combined with high attention to detail ensures accuracy in all aspects of your work—from report preparation through variance analysis or database maintenance.
- Demonstrated enjoyment of cross-functional collaboration while also being dependable enough to manage tasks independently when required by project timelines or business needs.
- Motivation to learn continuously—whether mastering new software tools or understanding evolving business models—paired with confidence asking questions or seeking clarification when needed.
- A proactive approach towards problem-solving that includes identifying process improvements or efficiencies without waiting for direction from others.
- Ability to adapt quickly within changing environments while remaining sensitive towards team dynamics; showing empathy during busy periods; offering support where possible.
