What you'll do:
As an Assistant Finance Manager based in Singapore, you will be entrusted with leading a talented team responsible for delivering accurate finance operations across key areas such as treasury management, accounts receivable/payable processing, staff claims handling, master data governance, and regulatory compliance. Your day-to-day will involve maintaining robust controls over critical financial processes while driving efficiency improvements that enhance overall service quality. You will also play an integral role in managing working capital forecasts for the APAC region—ensuring timely reviews that underpin sound cashflow management. In addition to overseeing quarterly GST filings and upholding KY3P standards for third-party relationships, you will collaborate extensively with cross-functional partners to resolve operational challenges swiftly. Success in this role hinges on your ability to foster team growth through coaching and mentorship while championing continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen both process integrity and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Oversee a dedicated finance operations team of four, managing daily activities across treasury, accounts receivable, accounts payable, staff claims, and operational compliance to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Maintain rigorous governance and control discipline throughout all finance operations by implementing effective controls over procure-to-pay (PTP), order-to-cash (OTC), travel and expense (T&E), and treasury processes in line with company policies.
- Take responsibility for APAC working capital management within budgetary frameworks by ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timely review to support cash visibility and forecasting discipline.
- Directly manage treasury operations including cash and bank activities while ensuring strict adherence to group cash strategy with support from specialist colleagues.
- Supervise master data governance for customer/vendor setup and system administration, guaranteeing appropriate segregation of duties, process compliance, and timely execution to support business needs.
- Ensure Know Your Third Party (KY3P) requirements for new and existing suppliers/customers are completed promptly with thorough documentation and control evidence maintained at all times.
- Lead the preparation and review of quarterly GST filings by ensuring accuracy, correct tax treatment, and full compliance with regulatory requirements relevant to the region.
- Partner closely with internal stakeholders such as Sales, HR, Procurement, and Accounting/Reporting teams to resolve operational issues efficiently while improving turnaround times and strengthening policy compliance.
- Drive ongoing improvements across finance operations through process standardisation initiatives, control enhancements, productivity gains, and active participation in remediation projects alongside risk and compliance teams.
- Develop team capability by providing coaching, mentoring, regular performance feedback, supporting hiring/onboarding efforts, and reinforcing a culture focused on high-quality delivery.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Assistant Finance Manager position brings substantial hands-on experience managing end-to-end finance operations within large-scale organisations—preferably those operating internationally or within consumer goods industries. Your background should reflect not only technical expertise in accounting principles but also practical know-how in treasury management and master data administration. You will be adept at navigating complex regulatory landscapes when preparing statutory filings such as GST returns while always prioritising accuracy.
- Possess a degree or diploma in Accountancy coupled with at least eight years’ experience in finance operations within multinational environments; experience in fast-moving consumer goods sectors is highly regarded.
- Demonstrate advanced accounting knowledge with the ability to work independently while maintaining meticulous attention to detail across all tasks undertaken.
- Showcase excellent interpersonal skills as a dependable team player who communicates clearly with colleagues at all levels of the organisation.
- Exhibit proficiency in managing treasury functions including cash/bank activities along with proven experience overseeing master data governance processes.
- Display strong organisational skills when preparing complex regulatory filings such as GST returns whilst ensuring full compliance with applicable laws.
- Bring experience partnering effectively with internal stakeholders from diverse backgrounds to resolve issues collaboratively while enhancing policy adherence.
- Evidence your capacity for coaching others by supporting hiring/onboarding processes as well as providing constructive feedback that nurtures individual/team growth.
- Demonstrate adaptability by embracing change initiatives aimed at process standardisation or control enhancement within dynamic business settings.
- Uphold high ethical standards by ensuring rigorous documentation practices around KY3P requirements for suppliers/customers are consistently met.
