Infrastructure Security Engineer (1 year contract)

Our client is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Security Engineer to join their IT team on a 1-year contract. In this role, you’ll design, implement, and manage security controls across our network, cloud, and infrastructure environments, working closely with internal teams and external vendors to ensure a robust and compliant security posture.

Responsibilities:

• Design and maintain secure network infrastructure including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS
• Apply Zero Trust principles and enforce network segmentation
• Secure cloud workloads on Azure & AWS using IAM, encryption, logging, and monitoring
• Monitor SIEM alerts (Azure Sentinel), develop and test incident response runbooks
• Lead vulnerability lifecycle management using tools such as Qualys or Nessus
• Conduct network security audits, compliance assessments, and infrastructure hardening
• Support CSIRT processes and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) implementation
• Coordinate with SOC and operations vendors, ensuring SLA compliance and escalations

Requirements:

• Degree in IT, Engineering, or related field
• 3+ years in IT infrastructure roles (system/network admin, cloud support)
• 2+ years in infrastructure security or security engineering
• Hands-on experience with:
• Network devices: Cisco & Meraki switches/APs
• Firewalls & ATP: Palo Alto, Cisco
• SIEM: Azure Sentinel
• Vulnerability tools: Qualys, Nessus
• Cloud platforms: Azure, AWS
• Experience in at least one of: incident response, infrastructure audit, penetration testing
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
