A prestigious global law firm is seeking a Business Development Manager to join its highly regarded South East Asia team in Singapore. This is an exceptional opportunity for you to play a pivotal role in shaping the business development and marketing strategies of key practice areas, working closely with partners, lawyers, and business professionals across local, regional, and global teams.

As a Business Development Manager within this leading law firm’s South East Asia team based in Singapore, you will immerse yourself in a varied portfolio of responsibilities designed to elevate both client engagement and market presence.

  • Develop strong relationships with fee earners in appointed practice areas in Singapore to ensure seamless communication and effective delivery of business development initiatives.
  • Assist in preparing comprehensive business development practice plans based on detailed market research covering macroeconomic trends, client needs, competitor analysis, and industry developments.
  • Advise partners on targeting strategies and client relationship management in conjunction with sector and country focus teams to maximise client value.
  • Support key sector programmes by contributing to regional and global initiatives that enhance relationships with priority clients across APAC.
  • Proactively manage proposals, pitches, and capability statements by coordinating with fee earners and other business functions to produce compelling materials.

What you bring:

  • Minimum five years’ experience in a similar position within professional services, having worked with a law firm or Big 4 consultancy is required for this role.

  • This role will work closely with the Financial Markets practice and requires the candidate to have prior experience within Capital & Financial Markets.

  • Your background should reflect significant involvement in developing competitive proposals or pitches (ideally tailored for legal markets), implementing successful marketing or business development programmes around client portfolios, managing impactful events aligned with commercial objectives, crafting precise written communications free from error, and organising complex workloads efficiently under pressure while remaining responsive to shifting priorities.

  • The ability to interact confidently with senior stakeholders such as partners or business management, while demonstrating well-developed influencing skills, is crucial.
