What you'll do:

As a Financial Controller based in Singapore, you will be entrusted with comprehensive oversight of both corporate and fund-level finance operations.

• Prepare and review statutory, monthly, and quarterly financial reports at both corporate and fund levels in accordance with relevant accounting standards, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
• Monitor financial performance by analysing results and providing actionable insights to enhance overall financial health across multiple business units.
• Review portfolio companies’ financial statements, investigate discrepancies as needed, and uphold high standards of integrity in all aspects of financial management.
• Collaborate with the Finance Director to manage internal and external audit processes, including liaising with auditors and preparing audited financial statements.
• Work closely with finance team members to streamline accounting processes, drive efficiency improvements, and implement best practices across the department.
• Stay abreast of changes in accounting regulations and standards, proactively updating internal practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Lead annual budgeting and reforecasting cycles by coordinating preparation of budget files, conducting variance analyses against actuals, and supporting effective financial controls.
• Oversee tax computation and filing activities for various entities; coordinate with tax agents to manage exposures while ensuring prompt statutory submissions.
• Assist with cash management tasks such as bank account administration, monitoring cash flow positions, planning liquidity needs, loan administration, compliance reporting, capital calls, returns, and distributions.
• Provide transactional support to investment teams during acquisitions or divestments by managing due diligence activities and ensuring sufficient funding for pipeline deals.

What you bring:

To excel as a Financial Controller in this esteemed investment firm, you will bring extensive experience from the private equity or real estate industries—ideally having managed finance functions at both corporate headquarters and fund levels.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance or related discipline is preferred; professional accounting certification such as CPA or ACCA is required for this position.
• At least 12 years’ experience within private equity or real estate sectors is essential; prior managerial or team leadership experience spanning 3-5 years is highly desirable.
• Comprehensive technical knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP as well as regional accounting standards relevant to key Asian markets including Hong Kong, Japan, and Singapore is necessary.
• Exceptional analytical skills combined with meticulous attention to detail are vital for success in this multifaceted role.
• Advanced user skills in Microsoft Excel along with solid command of Word and PowerPoint are expected; familiarity with Yardi accounting software would be beneficial but not essential.
