A leading global brand is seeking a Travel Retail Manager to drive business development and foster strong partnerships within the travel retail and duty-free sector across Southeast Asia. This is an exciting opportunity for you to play a pivotal role in expanding market presence, nurturing key customer relationships, and ensuring the consistent delivery of exceptional service standard

What you'll do:

As a Travel Retail Manager, you will immerse yourself in the dynamic world of travel retail across Southeast Asia. Your day-to-day activities will centre around fostering enduring partnerships with key accounts, acting as the vital link between buyers and internal teams. You will be instrumental in developing joint business plans that drive mutual growth while ensuring that brand standards are upheld at every customer touchpoint. By providing attentive support throughout the order management process and conducting thorough performance reviews, you will help optimise sales outcomes and inventory levels. Your analytical acumen will shine as you prepare insightful reports for senior management, contributing directly to strategic planning. Success in this role hinges on your ability to connect with diverse stakeholders, adapt to evolving market conditions, and champion collaborative solutions that benefit both partners and the organisation.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for travel retail partners, collaborating closely with buyers to ensure seamless communication between business partners and the company.
  • Cultivate and sustain robust business relationships with key customers by understanding their unique requirements and proposing tailored solutions and services.
  • Develop, review, and implement joint annual business plans with trade partners to align on mutual goals and maximise commercial outcomes.
  • Achieve annual sales targets by managing both sell-in and sell-out objectives while optimising inventory health in partnership with travel retail stakeholders.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of brand image at all commercial touchpoints within airports and other duty-free channels throughout Southeast Asia.
  • Drive business development initiatives by identifying new opportunities in airports and duty-free environments, expanding the reach of products and services.
  • Provide comprehensive support to customers on order management processes including preparation of presentation materials, quotations, sample arrangements, and purchase order generation.
  • Monitor business performance through regular review of key performance indicators at both customer and door level, taking proactive steps to address any gaps or opportunities.
  • Generate detailed sales and business analysis reports for management review, offering insights that inform strategic decision-making.

What you bring:

To excel as a Travel Retail Manager, your background should reflect proven expertise in managing relationships within the travel retail or duty-free sector. Your educational achievements provide a solid grounding for understanding industry nuances, while your practical experience ensures you can anticipate partner needs and respond proactively. Your technical proficiency allows you to analyse trends effectively, supporting informed decision-making. Interpersonal sensitivity is crucial; your ability to communicate clearly fosters trust among colleagues and clients alike. A collaborative mindset enables you to work seamlessly within cross-functional teams, always prioritising collective success over individual gain. Adaptability is another hallmark—you remain composed amid change, responding thoughtfully rather than reactively. Above all, your commitment to delivering outstanding service underpins everything you do, making you an invaluable asset to any forward-thinking organisation operating in this space.

  • Possess a diploma or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field which has equipped you with foundational knowledge essential for success in travel retail management.
  • Demonstrate at least three years of hands-on experience within the travel retail sector, showcasing your familiarity with industry practices and partner expectations.
  • Bring prior experience handling duty-free partners within Southeast Asia or similar regions, enabling you to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes effectively.
  • Exhibit proficiency in MS Office applications—particularly Excel—for conducting detailed sales and inventory analyses that inform data-driven decisions.
  • Showcase adaptability by thriving in dynamic environments while consistently achieving agreed-upon business objectives through teamwork and resilience.
  • Display excellent communication skills that allow you to build rapport with internal teams as well as external partners from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Embody a collaborative approach by working harmoniously within teams to deliver shared goals while supporting colleagues’ growth.
  • Demonstrate strong organisational abilities by managing multiple priorities simultaneously without compromising attention to detail or quality of service.
  • Utilise analytical thinking to interpret performance metrics accurately and translate findings into actionable recommendations for continuous improvement.
