A leading global provider of flow control solutions is seeking a Sales Account Manager to drive new project sales and aftermarket activities for valves across the Southeast Asia region, with a primary base in Singapore. This is an exceptional opportunity for you to leverage your technical acumen and commercial insight within a supportive, inclusive, and growth-oriented organisation renowned for its commitment to integrity, partnership, and excellence. You will play a pivotal role in developing strategies that expand market presence, foster deep customer relationships, and deliver tailored solutions to clients in power, petrochemical, oil & gas, water, wastewater, and general industries.

What you'll do:

As a Sales Account Manager – Valves and Flow Control based in Singapore, you will be entrusted with driving both new project sales and aftermarket growth across Southeast Asia. Your day-to-day responsibilities will see you engaging directly with customers—building trust through expert consultation—and managing representative networks to maximise coverage. You will oversee the entire sales cycle from opportunity creation through to closing deals while ensuring all proposals meet rigorous technical standards. By preparing persuasive presentations tailored to each client’s unique requirements and responding swiftly to aftermarket inquiries, you will position yourself as a dependable partner who delivers real value. Your ability to track key metrics such as quotation activity and profitability will inform strategic decisions while your hands-on approach to resolving customer challenges ensures long-term satisfaction. In addition to nurturing existing relationships, you will identify untapped markets where advanced valve technologies can make a difference—working collaboratively with colleagues on training initiatives that enhance both internal capabilities and external partnerships. Success in this role means consistently exceeding expectations through thoughtful planning, responsive communication, and an unwavering focus on delivering high-quality solutions.

  • Develop and execute strategic plans for new project sales and aftermarket services related to valves throughout the assigned territory, ensuring alignment with agreed sales targets.
  • Manage representatives within the region by setting clear business plans, providing regular forecasts, following up on open opportunities, and conducting semi-annual performance reviews.
  • Travel extensively to engage directly with customers and prospects; cultivate strong personal connections with key decision-makers while gaining an in-depth understanding of their processes and organisational needs.
  • Oversee all aspects of the sales process including opportunity identification, lead qualification, product selection guidance, proposal generation, follow-up activities, and successful closure of new business deals.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling technical presentations to customer stakeholders that highlight product advantages and ensure compliance with client specifications.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries regarding aftermarket parts and services for specialised valve products; support field service operations by identifying new opportunities for value-added solutions.
  • Maintain accurate tracking systems for quotations, profitability analysis, pricing trends, and quotation success ratios; provide timely weekly reports summarising market intelligence and competitive activity.
  • Investigate customer issues related to products or services; coordinate effective resolutions by liaising with internal teams such as application engineers or manufacturing locations as needed.
  • Facilitate site visits for design reviews or commercial discussions; ensure seamless handover documentation for order processing while supporting contract execution through close contact management.
  • Lead initiatives to develop new market segments where advanced valve solutions can be applied (including petrochemical plants, refineries, mining operations, geothermal projects), collaborating closely with internal teams on training programmes for both internal staff and external partners.

What you bring:

To excel as a Sales Account Manager – Valves and Flow Control in this organisation you will bring not only robust technical knowledge but also refined interpersonal skills honed through years of experience navigating complex industrial environments. Your educational background in engineering equips you with the analytical foundation necessary for interpreting detailed specifications while your practical exposure across multiple sectors ensures versatility when addressing varied client requirements. You are comfortable balancing competing demands—whether it’s managing several active projects simultaneously or adapting quickly during periods of change—and your proficiency with industry-standard software enables efficient documentation at every stage. Your ability to communicate clearly allows you to foster trust among customers as well as internal teams; meanwhile your experience guiding representative networks ensures consistent delivery against ambitious targets. Above all else your dedication to customer satisfaction drives you toward continuous improvement—seeking out feedback proactively so that every solution offered is tailored precisely for maximum impact.

  • Degree in Engineering or a closely related discipline coupled with 5-10 years of experience supporting sales activities within power generation, petrochemical processing, oil & gas production, water treatment or general industrial sectors across Southeast Asia.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively under demanding time constraints while maintaining meticulous attention to detail throughout complex sales cycles.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in severe service control valve applications—including desuperheating systems—for power plants as well as general service valves for industrial use cases.
  • Strong familiarity with reviewing customer-supplied specifications (such as P&ID diagrams) alongside data sheets; able to recommend optimal product selections based on technical fit-for-purpose analysis.
  • Advanced skills using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat; comfortable leveraging digital tools for reporting purposes or technical documentation preparation.
  • Experience utilising sizing programs relevant to fluid handling equipment design; exposure to basic instrumentation principles or electrical design considerations is highly desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication abilities—both written and verbal—with a talent for building rapport across diverse cultural backgrounds while influencing positive outcomes among stakeholders.
  • Track record of successfully developing representative networks or direct business channels; adept at setting goals collaboratively then monitoring progress through structured reviews.
