An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Communications Specialist to join a leading retail organisation in Singapore on an 8-month contract. This role offers the chance to work at the heart of some of the region’s most high-profile campaigns, supporting both external and internal communications across a vibrant and collaborative team. You will be instrumental in shaping consumer campaigns around major events such as Black Friday, and key holiday seasons, while also playing a vital part in ongoing corporate reputation efforts and employee engagement initiatives. The organisation is committed to fostering a supportive environment where your writing skills, media expertise, and ability to connect with diverse stakeholders will be highly valued. With a competitive monthly salary ranging from $6,000 to $8,000, this position provides an excellent platform for you to further develop your career within a globally recognised brand.

  • Work closely with regional teams to deliver impactful communications campaigns that elevate the brand’s presence in Singapore and beyond, ensuring every initiative resonates with local audiences.
  • Enjoy flexible working opportunities within a collaborative environment that values knowledge sharing, professional growth, and supportive leadership throughout your contract tenure.
  • Benefit from exposure to high-profile projects and the chance to build strong relationships with media professionals, influencers, and internal stakeholders across multiple disciplines.

What you'll do:

As a Communications Specialist, you will immerse yourself in the day-to-day orchestration of both external campaigns and internal messaging strategies. Your role will involve crafting engaging narratives that highlight key retail events while ensuring consistent messaging across all touchpoints. You will collaborate extensively with colleagues across different regions as well as external partners to bring creative ideas to life.

By monitoring media trends and campaign outcomes, you will help refine future strategies while supporting the organisation’s commitment to transparency and community involvement. Your ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously will be crucial as you contribute to both planned campaigns and responsive communications needs. Success in this role means not only delivering high-quality content but also fostering positive relationships that enhance the organisation’s reputation locally.

  • Support the planning and execution of integrated communications campaigns for major retail events and strategic business initiatives, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
  • Draft compelling press releases, briefing documents, and internal communications materials tailored for various audiences and platforms.
  • Coordinate proactive media outreach activities by building and nurturing relationships with local journalists, influencers, and key opinion leaders.
  • Collaborate with external public relations agencies as well as internal stakeholders to deliver campaign assets efficiently and ensure timely rollout of all communication materials.
  • Monitor media coverage diligently, track campaign performance metrics, and prepare comprehensive reports for internal review and continuous improvement.
  • Assist in managing corporate reputation through community engagement initiatives, sustainability communications, and workplace-related storytelling.
  • Provide support during issues or crisis management situations by coordinating responses and preparing relevant communication materials for the Singapore retail business.
  • Drive employee engagement by preparing content updates for internal platforms that foster connection and information sharing among staff members.

What you bring:

To excel as a Communications Specialist in this contract position, you will bring proven experience from roles involving public relations or corporate communications—ideally within large-scale organisations or agencies. Your background should reflect not only technical proficiency in drafting clear messages but also an understanding of how best to engage diverse audiences through various channels. Interpersonal skills are paramount; your ability to work harmoniously with colleagues from different backgrounds will underpin your effectiveness in cross-functional projects. A keen eye for detail ensures accuracy under tight deadlines while your adaptability allows you to respond constructively to changing priorities. Experience working on high-visibility campaigns or supporting brands during critical periods will be highly regarded.

  • 3–6 years of professional experience in public relations, communications, or a related field is essential for success in this role.
  • Demonstrated strength in writing and editorial skills with an ability to create compelling content across formats including press releases, briefings, and digital posts.
  • Familiarity with media relations practices as well as digital communications channels and influencer engagement techniques is required.
  • A detail-oriented mindset combined with strong organisational abilities enables effective management of multiple concurrent projects without compromising quality.
  • A collaborative approach that thrives on teamwork while being solutions-driven ensures seamless cooperation within fast-moving corporate environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or a related discipline is mandatory for consideration.
