Senior Staffing Specialist
A leading global consulting firm is seeking a Senior Staffing Specialist to join their highly respected team in Singapore. This is an exceptional opportunity for you to play a pivotal role as a trusted partner and advisor, ensuring that both clients and internal teams are set up for success.
What you'll do:
As a Senior Staffing Specialist, you will immerse yourself in the heart of talent management within one of the world’s most respected consulting environments. Your day-to-day responsibilities will revolve around orchestrating the assignment of consultants to project teams, ensuring each individual’s skills and aspirations are matched thoughtfully with business needs. You will serve as a trusted advisor to both junior consultants and senior leaders alike, facilitating conversations that balance client demands with personal development objectives. By monitoring resource utilisation across the office, you will help maintain an efficient operation while supporting ongoing professional growth. Your proactive approach to daily operations will see you collaborating closely with colleagues across functions and geographies, contributing ideas for process enhancements that drive continuous improvement. Success in this role means being attuned to both people’s ambitions and organisational priorities, ensuring everyone thrives together.
- Work closely with the staffing team to identify well-balanced case teams, taking direct responsibility for staffing Associate Consultant and Senior Associate Consultant classes across Southeast Asia.
- Act as the single point of contact for these consultant classes, ensuring their professional development needs are understood and addressed through thoughtful project assignments.
- Facilitate discussions with Partners regarding team composition hypotheses for upcoming client cases, providing insights into staff strengths and developmental priorities.
- Monitor overall office resource utilisation by tracking staff balance and making recommendations to maintain optimal capacity within the resource pyramid.
- Ensure smooth business operations by balancing client delivery requirements with ongoing professional growth opportunities for all staff members.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Southeast Asia and Asia Pacific to support seamless staffing processes and knowledge sharing.
- Contribute actively to daily operations by helping close outstanding tasks within the team's workflow, ensuring data integrity in the staffing system for informed decision-making.
- Adopt a mindset of continuous improvement by recommending and implementing practical steps to enhance existing processes based on constructive feedback.
- Engage in problem-solving activities to find creative solutions that address both immediate operational challenges and long-term strategic goals.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, fostering open communication channels that support effective collaboration.
What you bring:
To excel as a Senior Staffing Specialist, your background should reflect substantial experience in talent management or resource planning, ideally gained within professional services or similarly structured organisations. Your interpersonal skills will be central: you thrive on building trust-based relationships with colleagues at every level, listening carefully to understand their aspirations while balancing broader business needs. Your approach is empathetic yet pragmatic; you enjoy finding solutions that benefit individuals as well as teams. A keen eye for detail helps you manage complex workflows efficiently without losing sight of the bigger picture. You bring an openness to new ideas welcoming feedback as an opportunity for shared learning and demonstrate resilience when navigating change. Above all, your commitment to inclusivity ensures everyone feels supported on their career journey.
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline or organisational psychology; qualifications in people or operations-related fields would be advantageous.
- At least 5-7 years of relevant work experience, ideally including direct staffing experience within a professional services environment; experience in resource management, deployment, talent strategy or other people-focused functions will also be considered.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills that enable you to build rapport with stakeholders at all levels while balancing competing considerations effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to nurture collaborative relationships across diverse teams, showing sensitivity towards different perspectives and backgrounds.
- Resourcefulness in identifying creative solutions to complex problems while maintaining focus on both immediate needs and long-term outcomes.
- A commitment to continuous improvement through openness to feedback and willingness to recommend or implement process enhancements.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail when managing multiple priorities simultaneously within a fast-moving environment.
- Proficiency in using data systems or tools related to staffing or human resources management would be beneficial but not essential.
- A passion for supporting others’ professional growth within an inclusive workplace that values diversity of thought and experience.
