This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a nurturing, learning-focused community that values openness, honesty, and the unique contributions of every team member.

What you'll do:

As People and Culture Manager, you will be entrusted with a broad spectrum of responsibilities designed to enhance every aspect of the employee lifecycle. Your day-to-day activities will involve close collaboration with department leaders to anticipate workforce needs, ensuring that recruitment strategies are proactive and aligned with organisational goals. You will champion seamless onboarding experiences for new hires while maintaining meticulous compliance with all regulatory requirements. In this role, you will also oversee payroll administration using advanced HRIS tools, regularly review compensation structures for competitiveness, and drive performance management processes that nurture talent across the institution. Your expertise will be instrumental in identifying training needs, developing impactful professional development programmes for non-academic staff, and supporting succession planning efforts.

  • Coordinate manpower planning with line managers to ensure optimal utilisation of human resources aligned with organisational effectiveness goals.
  • Oversee recruitment processes to attract qualified personnel who align with the institution’s values and objectives, ensuring timely fulfilment of current and future staffing needs.
  • Administer efficient onboarding programmes in collaboration with department heads to ensure new staff feel welcomed, supported, and integrated into the community.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements by managing documentation related to employment permits, remuneration, and interactions with government bodies.
  • Manage monthly payroll administration and maintain the human resource information system (HRIS) to provide accurate data for planning new initiatives.
  • Review compensation policies regularly to recommend enhancements that keep benefits competitive for attracting and retaining talented staff.
  • Implement robust performance management systems that facilitate staff development programmes focused on productivity improvement, career progression, and annual reviews.
  • Conduct comprehensive training needs analyses to design development plans for non-academic staff aimed at upgrading competencies and supporting succession planning.
  • Drive employee engagement surveys by coordinating rollout, encouraging participation, communicating results transparently, and tracking progress on action plans.
  • Provide guidance on employee relations matters including discipline and grievances while upholding the organisation’s philosophy of excellence.

What you bring:

To excel as People and Culture Manager within this esteemed educational institution, your background should reflect substantial hands-on experience leading HR functions within complex organisations, ideally those operating internationally or within the education sector. Your academic credentials should be complemented by practical expertise navigating Singapore’s employment landscape. You bring not only technical proficiency but also interpersonal strengths: your ability to communicate clearly across cultures ensures harmonious relationships throughout the organisation.

  • A degree in human resources management, business or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • At least 10 years’ experience in human resources management or administration with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial capacity within education or large corporate settings such as MNCs or international schools.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HR principles including exposure to local laws governing employment practices in Singapore.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications at an advanced level; experience with SAP SuccessFactors is highly advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage teams effectively while nurturing talent through supportive leadership approaches.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with keen attention to detail when interpreting metrics or trends relevant to HR operations.
  • A proven track record of building positive relationships across all levels of staff through empathy, sensitivity to others’ needs, and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality regarding sensitive information while acting as a dependable advisor on industrial relations matters.
  • A people-oriented mindset characterised by respectfulness towards diversity as well as being an enthusiastic team player who contributes positively to communal goals.
