Liquidity Risk Analyst (4-6months contract)

What you'll do:
As a Liquidity Risk Analyst, you will play an integral role in safeguarding the organisation’s financial stability by preparing detailed reports for both internal use and regulatory submission. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve monitoring key liquidity metrics, collaborating with multiple departments including Treasury and front office teams, and participating in system enhancement projects designed to strengthen the firm’s risk management capabilities.
- Prepare comprehensive liquidity risk reports for internal stakeholders and regulatory authorities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all submissions.
- Monitor daily positions against established liquidity risk limits and guidelines, identifying potential issues and escalating them as appropriate.
- Participate actively in the prototyping of new reports and contribute to ongoing system enhancement initiatives aimed at improving risk management processes.
- Collaborate closely with front office teams, Treasury, and Liquidity Risk Management colleagues to support testing activities related to both tactical and strategic business expansion projects.
- Engage in various liquidity risk-related projects by providing analytical support and ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
- Assist in the implementation of new regulatory requirements such as Basel III LCR, NSFR, and liquidity stress testing frameworks.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of data quality by validating inputs used in risk calculations and reporting processes.
- Support ad hoc analysis requests from senior management or other departments regarding liquidity metrics or market developments.
- Document procedures and maintain up-to-date records of methodologies used in liquidity risk assessment.
- Foster open communication within the team by sharing insights, best practices, and feedback on process improvements.
What you bring:
To excel as a Liquidity Risk Analyst, you will bring proven experience from previous roles focused on financial risk reporting or management within reputable banks or financial institutions.
- A degree in a numerate discipline such as finance, mathematics, statistics or equivalent experience gained through relevant roles within banking or financial institutions.
- Proven experience in risk reporting or risk management functions within a bank or similar financial services environment is essential for success in this position.
- Advanced proficiency with Excel is required; familiarity with VBA, Python, SQL or other programming languages is highly desirable for report prototyping and system enhancements.
- Solid understanding of key risk management concepts including liquidity metrics such as Basel III LCR (Liquidity Coverage Ratio), NSFR (Net Stable Funding Ratio), and liquidity stress testing methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams while maintaining attention to detail under tight deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with internal stakeholders across different departments.
- A self-starter attitude combined with strong organisational skills enables you to manage multiple priorities efficiently while delivering high-quality results.
- Previous experience working in or alongside Treasury, Asset Liability Management (ALM), market risk or credit risk functions would be considered advantageous but not mandatory.
