What you'll do:
As a KYC Onboarding Analyst, you will play an integral role within the Global Banking and Markets Onboarding team based in Singapore. Your day-to-day responsibilities will revolve around facilitating smooth client onboarding experiences while ensuring full compliance with local and international regulatory standards. You will engage directly with clients as well as relationship managers to gather required documentation, perform due diligence checks, and address any queries or concerns that arise during the process. Your ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements will be essential as you prepare detailed reports for senior management and provide guidance on best practices. In addition to your core duties, you will have opportunities to contribute your insights on cross-functional projects aimed at enhancing operational efficiency or responding to new business needs. Success in this role requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent communication skills, adaptability under pressure, and a genuine commitment to delivering outstanding service within a highly regulated environment.
- Collaborate directly with clients and relationship managers to facilitate the efficient onboarding of new-to-bank clients as well as conduct regular periodic reviews in line with KYC and AML requirements for Singapore, Hong Kong, and Australia.
- Champion a customer-focused culture by deepening client relationships and leveraging broader organisational systems and knowledge to enhance the onboarding experience.
- Ensure all activities are conducted in strict compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, procedures, and the organisation’s risk appetite.
- Rapidly triage complex issues related to client onboarding or regulatory matters, escalating them promptly to management for resolution when necessary.
- Maintain high standards for KYC documentation by adhering to guidance set forth by Global Banking and Markets, ensuring proper archiving according to both internal and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare comprehensive status reports and case volume metrics for executive management review on a regular basis.
- Provide responsive support to both internal stakeholders (such as compliance or technology teams) and external stakeholders impacted by regulatory changes affecting client onboarding.
- Participate actively in multi-disciplinary teams addressing new business initiatives, system enhancements, or one-off projects as required by the business.
- Stay informed about changes in relevant regulatory frameworks including but not limited to FATCA, CRS, Dodd-Frank, EMIR, Volker Rule, MiFID, margin regulations, and other trade reporting obligations.

- Possess 2 to 3 years of direct industry experience in KYC within capital markets, corporate banking or investment banking environments focused on wholesale banking operations.
- Hold an undergraduate degree in Finance, Business, Economics or a closely related discipline from a recognised institution.
- Demonstrate expertise with current regulatory frameworks impacting capital markets client onboarding; familiarity with emerging regulations is considered advantageous.
- Exhibit strong attention to detail combined with sound judgement for detecting potential issues and escalating them efficiently when needed.
- Display excellent oral and written communication skills alongside proven relationship management abilities that foster trust among clients and colleagues alike.
- Showcase effective time management skills enabling you to operate successfully within tight deadlines under close scrutiny from senior management.
- Bring a solid understanding of capital markets or corporate banking business models along with a client-centric mindset that prioritises positive outcomes for all parties involved.
- Be comfortable working in high-pressure environments where priorities may shift rapidly due to changing business or regulatory demands.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Excel including VLOOKUPs as well as data sorting/filtering; experience with macros is considered beneficial.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of key regulations such as FATCA, CRS, Dodd-Frank Act, EMIR, Volker Rule, MiFID II/MiFIR, margin rules and other relevant compliance obligations.
