Finance Manager (9 months contract)
An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to join a highly respected private equity real estate investment firm based in Singapore.
This contract position offers you the chance to play a pivotal role in both corporate and fund-level finance management, supporting a team that values professionalism, collaboration, and sustainable growth. You will be part of an organisation renowned for its focused approach, high standards of integrity, and commitment to nurturing talent.
- Join a specialist investment firm with a strong reputation for professionalism, integrity, and long-term results across Asia’s most vibrant real estate markets.
- Enjoy working in a collaborative and multicultural environment that rewards dedication, strategic thinking, adaptability, and inclusion.
- Take on a broad remit covering financial reporting, budgeting, tax planning, treasury management, and process improvement—empowering you to make a tangible difference.
What you'll do:
As Finance Manager, you will play an integral role in ensuring robust financial operations across both corporate structures and investment funds. Your day-to-day responsibilities will see you collaborating closely with colleagues across departments as you prepare accurate financial reports, support audits, manage budgeting cycles, oversee tax compliance activities, and drive improvements in treasury management.
- Assist with the preparation and review of statutory, monthly, and quarterly financial reports at both corporate and fund levels in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
- Review periodic financial reports from selected portfolio companies, investigate discrepancies as needed, and ensure the highest standards of financial management at the investment entity level.
- Support external and internal audit processes by liaising with auditors and preparing or reviewing audited financial statements to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Stay abreast of changes in accounting regulations and standards while implementing necessary adjustments to maintain best practices across all finance functions.
- Contribute to annual budgeting and reforecasting processes by preparing budget files, conducting detailed analysis, and comparing forecasts against actual performance.
- Assist with the preparation of analyses relating to monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets as well as reforecasts versus actuals to support informed decision-making.
- Review annual tax computations and filings for various entities while assisting with group-wide tax filing exercises to ensure timely compliance.
- Collaborate closely with tax agents to manage tax matters efficiently—including prompt statutory filings—and assist with tax planning, transfer pricing, and restructuring initiatives.
- Support cash management activities such as bank account administration, monitoring cash flow positions, and developing effective cash planning strategies.
- Assist with corporate secretarial matters by liaising with agents on board resolutions and annual return filings; update finance policies; monitor compliance; implement new systems or processes; and undertake ad-hoc assignments as required.
What you bring:
To excel as Finance Manager in this esteemed investment firm, you will bring proven experience managing complex finance functions within demanding environments. Your background should include hands-on involvement in statutory reporting cycles, audit support activities, budgeting processes, tax compliance tasks across multiple jurisdictions, treasury oversight responsibilities—and ideally some exposure to private equity or real estate investments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance or related field is preferred for this position as it provides essential foundational knowledge.
- Professional accounting certification such as CPA or ACCA (or equivalent) is required to demonstrate your technical expertise.
- At least 8 years of relevant accounting experience is expected; prior exposure within private equity or real estate sectors will be highly regarded.
- Comprehensive understanding of accounting standards including IFRS, US GAAP or Japan GAAP is necessary for success in this role.
- Solid taxation knowledge covering key markets such as Hong Kong, Japan, and Singapore is important for managing complex cross-border requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint is essential for preparing reports and presentations effectively.
- Experience using Yardi accounting software would be advantageous but not mandatory for consideration.
- Strong analytical skills combined with attention to detail are vital for producing accurate financial information under tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication abilities—both written and spoken English—are crucial for building rapport with stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing positively within a team-oriented environment is highly valued.
