An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Application Support Engineer to join a leading global hedge fund manager. The successful candidate will serve as the first point of contact for production issues, support requests and alerts in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This role offers the chance to collaborate with software development teams and ensure successful deployment of new code into production. With a strong focus on monitoring and incident management, this role is perfect for someone with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

What you'll do:

As an Application Support Engineer, your role will be pivotal in maintaining the smooth operation of trading systems. You will be the go-to person for any production issues or support requests, taking ownership of problems and finding solutions swiftly. Your excellent communication skills will be utilised as you provide clear summaries to business users and management. Working closely with software development teams, you'll play a key role in deploying new code into production. Your experience in managing complex deployments and environments will be invaluable in this role.

  • Serve as the first point of contact for production issues, support requests and alerts (L1-L3)
  • Investigate and solve issues/outages as they occur and escalate as necessary
  • Maintain accurate and detailed tickets to track all issues
  • Provide concise summaries to business users and management
  • Collaborate with software development teams to ensure successful deployment of new code into production
  • Manage complex deployments and environments

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Application Support Engineer role brings a wealth of experience from the financial services sector, specifically in supporting trading and post-trade systems. You have managed complex deployments and environments, demonstrating your ability to handle challenging situations with ease. Your expertise extends to supporting applications in a Linux environment, monitoring systems, incident management,and ticketing systems like ServiceNow or Jira.

  • 5+ years of support experiences within the financial services domain
  • Experience managing complex deployments and environments
  • Experience supporting applications in a Linux environment
  • Understanding of monitoring and incident management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with application monitoring systems such as NetData or DataDog
  • Direct experience in managing incidents rather than routing tickets
  • Experience with scripting (Python, Shell, or Perl)
  • Experience with trading systems is advantageous but not a must for this role
