What you'll do:

As an Application Support Engineer, you will play a crucial role in providing front-line support to customers across all platforms. You will be responsible for developing ad-hoc queries, performing complex data analysis, fielding customer enquiries related to market events, connectivity, business technologies and products. Your ability to decide the appropriate course of action when dealing with customers' technical problems will be key in this role. Additionally, you will evaluate and monitor market activity and order flow for efficiency while also performing investigations for both internal and external clients.

  • Develop ad-hoc queries and perform complex data analysis to create data-driven solutions to support or change policy, process procedures and technologies.
  • Field customer enquiries related to market events, connectivity, business technologies and products.
  • Decide appropriate course of action when speaking with a customer, such as which actions would accurately solve their technical problem.
  • Evaluate and monitor market activity and order flow for efficiency and anomalous behaviour.
  • Perform investigations for both internal and external clients - be able to articulate challenging and complex problems and solutions to a broad range of audiences.
  • Responsible for numerous automation projects

What you bring:

The ideal Application Support Engineer will bring a wealth of experience in front office trade floor support, production/application support and technical support. Your extensive customer-facing experience coupled with your strong analytical and problem-solving skills will be invaluable in this role. A good grasp of the full trade life cycle from execution to front and back office processing is also required.

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in information systems, computer science or a related field from a recognised university.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in trade floor support, production/application support, and technical support
  • Experience with leading industry charting/news platforms and front ends, such as Bloomberg, Trading Technologies and Eikon Refinitiv is advantageous
  • Extensive customer facing experience.
  • Experience with Linux and Python/Bash Scripting
  • Experience or understanding of FIX Protocol
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
