Security Engineer- Elastic Stack (Contract)

Role Overview: We are looking for an experienced ELK Stack Administrator who has hands-on experience with Logstash and Kafka for log ingestion, parsing, and collection in large-scale environments. This is not a standard operator role—we are seeking someone with deep technical expertise in managing, configuring, and optimizing ELK stacks, and ensuring smooth and efficient log processing workflows across complex infrastructures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design & Manage ELK Infrastructure: Oversee the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of a large-scale ELK stack, ensuring optimal performance, high availability, and scalability.
• Log Ingestion & Parsing: Develop and manage Logstash pipelines for log ingestion, parsing, transformation, and enrichment from diverse data sources.
• Kafka Integration: Design, deploy, and manage Kafka clusters to enable reliable and high-throughput log streaming into Elasticsearch.
• Performance Tuning & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks in Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kafka to maintain smooth operations and fast data processing.
• Security & Monitoring: Implement security best practices for data privacy, access control, and monitoring. Set up robust monitoring and alerting solutions for the health of the ELK stack.
• Automation & Scripting: Automate deployment, scaling, and management processes, using scripting languages and modern DevOps tools.

What We’re Looking For:

• Extensive Experience with the ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) in large-scale production environments.
• Deep Knowledge of Logstash: Experience designing and optimizing Logstash pipelines for various data sources and use cases.
• Kafka Expertise: Hands-on experience with Kafka for data streaming and log ingestion.
• Strong Troubleshooting Skills: Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex performance and infrastructure issues across the ELK stack and Kafka.
• Scaling & Security Best Practices: Demonstrated experience scaling ELK clusters to handle large volumes of data, and ensuring secure, efficient data processing.
• Automation & Scripting: Familiarity with automation frameworks and scripting (e.g., Python, Bash, Ansible, Terraform).
