An exciting Cybersecurity Identity Access Management (IAM) Specialist has become available at an esteemed bank.
The Identity Defence team is dedicated to reducing the risk of incidents by monitoring network account usage, authentication activities, and behaviours. Their primary goal is to prevent and detect the misuse or unauthorized use of accounts that provide access to the bank’s workforce network. The Cybersecurity Identity Access Management (IAM) Specialist is tasked with designing, engineering, implementing, and supporting solutions that safeguard these accounts.
In this role, you will contribute to the creation of new processes, controls, and governance frameworks focused on monitoring both human and non-human accounts within the bank. Your technical expertise and understanding of business requirements will guide you in implementing scalable solutions, including monitoring, alerting, and escalation systems that enhance core account protections. By leveraging your knowledge of common and emerging threats related to account takeovers, you will have the chance to influence and develop controls and policies within the digital identity domain. You will also collaborate with leaders from various business units to triage security events and provide reports on significant security incidents.
Effective communication is essential, as you will regularly engage with experts both within and outside the team, across different regions. Additionally, you will interact with employees during alert analysis and resolution discussions. Responsibilities:
- Investigate alerts related to potentially anomalous behavior or activity
- Conduct user interviews to confirm or determine the root cause of security events
- Communicate clearly with response teams and business partners
- Develop and monitor Splunk alerts and dashboards
- Identify opportunities for process automation and improvement
- Provide non-technical status updates to executives and stakeholders, including risk, impact, and remediation details
- Manage risk effectively
- Document analysis and investigative activities comprehensively
To succeed in this role, candidates should have 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity or engineering.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in cloud information security
- 3+ years in an operations-focused cloud information security role
- Experience in analyzing, investigating, and containing potential data breaches or cybersecurity incidents
- Ability to analyze data and assess its relevance to ongoing investigations
- Capability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, making decisive actions without unnecessary delay
- Independent judgment in responding to alerts
- Effective communication across all organizational levels, including both technical and non-technical audiences
- Familiarity with security vulnerabilities, exploits, and hacker techniques
- Knowledge of identity management standards, social engineering tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), and the incident response lifecycle
- Proficiency in Splunk, including query building, alerting, and dashboard creation
- Awareness of current authentication-based exploits
- Proven ability to present findings clearly and concisely to key stakeholders, both in written reports and orally
- Strong team player with the ability to work independently.
