My client is a global leader in supply chain and logistics solutions and they are seeking a highly skilled IT Director to drive the modernization and efficiency of its OMS and enterprise applications across Asia. This organization manages complex logistics operations across multiple regions and is embarking on a transformative journey to modernize its core systems and enhance operational excellence.
Job Responsibilities
Reporting into the Senior Director for Application Development and Enterprise Architecture, your role involves:
- Oversee a team of senior managers and provide strategic direction without micromanaging, leveraging their expertise to deliver results. (3 direct reports, 8 indirect reports)
- Oversee North Asia, South Asia, and Southeast Asia, ensuring systems function seamlessly and are tailored to regional requirements.
- Work closely with senior leadership and regional heads to align IT strategies with business goals and gain support for modernization initiatives.
- Lead the replacement of the legacy Order Management System with a modern platform, focusing on operational efficiency, automation, and scalability.
- Manage the roadmap for modernizing other critical enterprise applications and prioritize resources effectively.
- Collaborate with technology vendors to ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions on time and within budget.
- Ensure the smooth running of global logistics applications, particularly those supporting origin operations in key markets like China and Vietnam.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in logistics systems, developing and delivering solutions to enhance efficiency.
Job Requirements
As a successful candidate, you should have:
- At least 10 years of experience leading software development teams, with hands-on expertise in solution architecture or programming.
- Proven track record in modernizing OMS and/or enterprise applications.
- Strong experience in stakeholder management, including producing KPIs to align with upper management goals.
- Background in logistics technology or similar domains is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success in vendor management, resource prioritization, and capability development.
