An exciting Veritas Storage and Backup Engineer job opportunity has become available at a prestigious financial institution.
In this role, you will be primarily responsible for managing and maintaining data storage, backup, and archiving systems. A key focus will be on the implementation, administration, and optimization of Veritas Enterprise Vault and Veritas Merge1 solutions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of these technologies and be able to ensure the integrity, security, and accessibility of the organization’s data.
Responsibilities:
- Administer and optimize storage infrastructure with a focus on Veritas Enterprise Vault and Veritas Merge1
- Develop strategies for data storage, backup, and disaster recovery to meet business requirements
- Oversee the setup, configuration, and management of Veritas Enterprise Vault for efficient data archiving
- Design and manage comprehensive backup solutions using Veritas technologies
- Conduct regular testing of backup and recovery processes to ensure data can be restored in a timely manner
- Monitor the health and performance of storage and backup systems
- Implement retention policies and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
- Generate and analyze reports on storage utilization, backup success rates, and data retention compliance
- Ensure all storage and backup operations are in compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for storage and backup-related issues
- Work closely with other IT teams to ensure storage and backup solutions meet organizational needs
The successful candidate will require at least 6 years of experience working as a Storage and Backup Engineer, specialising in Veritas products.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 6+ years of experience in storage and backup management, with a focus on Veritas products
- Hands-on experience with Veritas Enterprise Vault and Veritas Merge1, with proficiency in administration and configuration
- Experience in data archiving, email management, and communications capture solutions
- Familiarity with other data management and archiving tools
- Knowledge of backup and recovery strategies and best practices
- Familiarity with security protocols and compliance standards related to data storage and backup
- Veritas certifications will be advantageous
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
