An exciting Senior IT Specialist job opportunity has become available at a global chemicals producer with headquarters in Germany.

About the Senior IT Specialist Role:
Reporting to the Regional Head of IT, this person will be responsible for maintaining, managing, and optimising the overall performance and availability of the clusters’ infrastructure and applications, and new IT systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain all system hardware and software and install and perform regular maintenance on all software and associate ancillary equipment
• Maintain subject-matter expertise in all applications for systems and maintain knowledge on all new and upcoming technologies and provide support to all production activities and resolve all technical issues in IT systems
• Provide advice, support and guidance to staff and management with respect to technical issues, networking, operations, application and desktop support
• Provide technical support, training, and direction to users to ensure effective use of systems
• Participate in, and at times lead projects to implement new systems and technologies
• Provision, set up and maintain VMware and Hyper-V virtual machines
• Ensure all servers is being properly backup according to the backup policies and perform data restore periodically
• Proactively follow up and resolve outstanding issues with vendors, do escalation when necessary
• Monitor network bandwidth usage and perform timely audit on suspicious/malicious activity in company network and end-client computer
• Implement and enforce all IT security standards related to PCs, servers, network, router, internet and WAN network
• Evaluate all system practices and recommend improvements and modifications to all systems to reduce cost and upgrade systems and maintain knowledge of all company IT assets

To succeed in this Senior IT Specialist role, you will need to have prior experience supporting Cisco Network, and Virtual Machines.

Key Requirements:

• Diploma/degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent, with at least six years' relevant work experience
• Prior experience in the manufacturing industry is a plus
• Good knowledge in Windows server OS, Windows OS, Microsoft 365, Dell Server and SAN, VMWare ESXi, Cisco Network Switching, Cisco IP Telephony
• Strong planning and time management/project management skills
• Certifications in CCNA, MCSE is an advantage
• Strong analytical, investigation and logic skills
