Cloud Java Developer (Banking, 1-Year Contract)

A leading global financial institution is seeking a Java Cloud Developer for a 1-year contract. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining mission-critical applications that power worldwide trading, risk management, and regulatory reporting. You will play a pivotal part in the transformation of complex on-premises systems into scalable, cloud-native solutions, directly supporting business acceleration and operational excellence.

What You'll Do

• Research, design and develop Java-based application
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business users, infrastructure engineers, and system managers to ensure seamless integration of new features and enhancements.
• Analyse user needs and translate them into effective software solutions by designing, coding, testing, and documenting all deliverables.
• Manage incidents and requests from business users or other IT teams by providing clear communication, troubleshooting issues, and implementing bug fixes or enhancements.
• Support monthly release strategies by participating in analysis, coding, testing phases, and ensuring smooth deployment into production environments.
• Provide level 1 and 2 application support by monitoring operations, identifying issues proactively, and delivering timely resolutions to maintain system stability.
• Drive process improvements through continuous evaluation of workflows and implementation of best practices across the software development lifecycle.

What You'll Need

• At least 3 years experience in Java Development with Spring/SpringBoot
• Experienced in PL/SQL & Linux operating systems; familiarity with Oracle/Sybase/MongoDB databases is highly desirable.
• Exposure to DevOps tools such as GIT/MasterDeploy/SVN/JENKINS/Kafka/Docker/Kubernetes and ability to develop Microservices will be an added advantages.
• Familiar with other tech stack such as C++/C#/Go will be an added advantages.
