Our client is seeking a Software Engineer (FIX) to join their dynamic Technology Department. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that are shaping the future of finance. You will be part of a team specialising in providing technical support, guidance, and solutions to clients, particularly in the areas of Connectivity and Conformance Testing. What you'll do:

As a Software Engineer (FIX), your role will be pivotal in understanding clients' technology needs, addressing their concerns, and ensuring the successful implementation of connectivity, conformance testing and usage of technology solutions. You will act as a liaison between the client and our internal Technology team, proposing solutions that meet clients’ needs. Your responsibilities will also include providing technical support to clients, managing vendor relationships, maintaining accurate documentation of client interactions, technical issues and resolutions.

  • Act as a primary point of contact between the client and the internal Technology team.
  • Engage with clients to understand their specific technology requirements and challenges.
  • Collaborate with the Technology team to design, code and implement IT solutions including connectivity and conformance testing.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to clients, ensuring successful implementation of connectivity and conformance testing, and usage of products/services.
  • Address and resolve clients’ issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Perform project management tasks such as tracking of progress, issues, risks, milestones, deliverables changes and ensure dependencies are within schedule and allocated costs.
  • Manage vendor relationships and deliverables.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions, technical issues and resolutions.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Software Engineer (FIX) position brings a wealth of experience in software development and IT infrastructure connectivity. With hands-on experience in languages such as Python, Node.js, Java, micro-services and frameworks such as Spring, React or Angular. Experience with AWS technologies is beneficial. Strong communication skills are crucial for this role, as you will be liaising with both clients and the internal Technology team. A good understanding of regulatory standards in data protection and security of information systems is also required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related disciplines.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in software development and some IT infrastructure connectivity.
  • Hands-on experience in languages such as Python, Node.js, Java, micro-services and frameworks such as Spring, React or Angular.
  • Experience with AWS technologies such as API Gateway, EC2, RDS, S3 and EKS.
  • Strong communication / problem-solving skills / inter-personal skills.
  • Good knowledge of regulatory standards in data protection and security of information systems.
  • Experience with FIX Protocol is a must
