A Software Engineer - Cobol (12 months renewable contract) job has become available at a global multinational company, to develop and implement Cobol programmes.

About the Software Engineer - Cobol (12 months renewable contract) Role:
You will be responsible for designing and developing critical financial systems projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement and test components
• Elaborate technical specifications, based on functional requirements and high level
• Contribute to technical design and liaise with business analysts on all aspects of the business
• Participate in analysing, resolving and providing technical support
• Draft specifications, technical design, unit tests, peer reviews and detailed system integration documents and any other documents as required during the project
• Contribute to maintaining a high standard of delivery
• Participate in technical discussions and propose solutions based on industry best practices
• Perform level three support of applications in production - analyse and resolve issues

To succeed in this Software Engineer - Cobol (12 months renewable contract) role, you must have a minimum of four years of experience in Cobol programming.

Key Requirements:

• Minimum of four years of relevant experience in COBOL
• Technically good in Micro Focus COBOL, C and Pro*C languages, Shell scripting, SQL/PL-SQL
• Knowledge in Java-J2EE is an advantage
• Good to know: Docker, Kubernetes, COBOL-IT, Control M, Schedulers
