A leading financial services organisation with a strong presence within the region are recruiting for a Data Governance Analyst job. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to optimise data quality, compliance, and data management practices.
About the Data Governance Analyst Role
As a Data Governance Analyst within our financial services company, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and security of our organisation's data assets. Your expertise will help shape data governance strategies, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive initiatives that support data-driven decision-making across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement data governance frameworks: Design and implement data governance frameworks, policies, standards, and procedures to ensure the effective management and control of data assets throughout their life cycle
- Establish data quality standards: Define and enforce data quality standards, data classification, and data lineage processes to ensure the accuracy, completeness, consistency, and timeliness of data
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with business stakeholders, data owners, data custodians, IT teams, and compliance teams to understand data requirements, identify data-related issues, and implement data governance solutions
- Monitor and enforce data governance policies: Monitor compliance with data governance policies, identify and address policy violations, and ensure adherence to relevant data regulations and industry best practices
- Develop data governance documentation: Create and maintain data governance documentation, including data dictionaries, data standards, data access controls, and data governance reports
To succeed as a Data Governance Analyst, you will need to have around five years of experience.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field
- Solid understanding of data governance principles, data quality management, and data protection regulations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex data-related issues and provide practical solutions
- Familiarity with financial services industry standards, regulations, and compliance requirements
- Experience with data governance tools, data management tools, and data catalogue tools
